Forest Elopement – Brittiany and David

Brittiany and David – October 9, 2021

Forest Elopement

For our first wedding of the day, Brittiany and David joined us for a forest elopement. They did something a little different and chose to get married in front of our mossy tree. They chose a morning wedding and had some gorgeous lighting! They have the most adorable little kiddos that were included in part of the ceremony. Congratulations, Brittiany and David!!
From the Bride:
We met through my job, but it wasn’t until a year after meeting when our paths crossed at my job again that we actually had a “not business” conversation. I initially upon first time meeting him did not like him at all (haha) and was dreading our scheduled appointment that day. Upon arrival though we struck up conversation and talked for what seemed like hours. It was easy to talk to him and we had a lot in common. We ended up exchanging numbers to hang out or talk sometime. We had both recently got out of long term relationships, and I can say for myself I wasn’t exactly looking for another relationship, but someone to talk to and hang out with every now and then, plus he wasn’t my normal type. But he quickly won me over.
We actually went on what I guess would be considered our first date that same day. He had text me once we were both home and asked what I was doing that night, and since we both had got home late if I wanted to go with him to get something to eat. We ended up going to Texas Roadhouse and spending even more hours talking.
David proposed at our house December 19, 2018. We were opening Christmas Gifts early as a family before we went on our yearly Laster Family Christmas Vacation. We had opened all of the gifts but the bag with the ring had fell behind some things and I didn’t see it. When I later came back in the room he asked where the bag was. I found the bag and opened it. Him and my daughter had a note with it that said they couldn’t think of anything more special than me sharing their last name.
I am from the Appalachian Mountains, East Ky, but now live in Western KY where it is more “flat”. The mountains completely have my heart. I have always wanted an outdoor wedding during the fall when the colors are so beautiful, and I wanted pretty scenery. So what better place than the mountains. Plus the Smokey Mountains is special to me. Growing up it is where I spent many long weekends and breaks.
They say eloping is supposed to be easier, I would hate to know how stressful a big wedding is. All jokes aside, David and I have been together around 7 years. We have two beautiful children, just finished and moved into our beautiful home on our farm, and live a blessed life. All that was missing in my wonderful life was his last name. ❤️ I knew I wanted fall when leaves had started to change but not when it’s cold out. However, after booking our date I realized I should have booked the Saturday before as October 2nd was the day it all began!
We live a crazy busy life! With two kids, demanding full time jobs and building homes on the side date nights are few and far between. We both of course love spending time with our kids. When we have free time we like four wheeling, hunting, boating, and riding motorcycles. We honestly are not picky people and will do just about anything. It’s all about making memories!
