Family Elopement – Melanie and Rob

Melanie and Rob – August 28, 2021

Family Elopement

For our second wedding of the day, Melanie and Rob and brought their children and parents to celebrate the joining of two families in their sweet, family elopement. They dressed the chapel in white fabric with our ombre pink florals, and Melanie was killing it in that long sleeved lace. They had a great group of kids, and we got one of my favorite family photos on the chapel steps. Congratulations, Melanie and Rob!!
From the Bride:
We actually went to the same high school together and we never met. We were one grade apart and had some of the same friends but we never crossed paths directly. We connected on Facebook and started talking, YEARS after high school. We found out how much we had in common and how much our personalities aligned. We are very compatible for each other and it shows.
Our first date was a simple one. We went to Rabbit Hash, Big Bone State Park and then Willies Sports Bar. We talked and talked and talked! Found out the basics of each other and interests, hobbies, kids, etc. We went on a few walks just getting to know each other, not really realizing that walking and talking was going to be something we do on a very regular basis. We hiked a little at Big Bone and exchanged stories of our childhood and high school years. It was the perfect first date. I (Rob) found out later that she was updating her mom during our first date via text of where she was at incase I was a murderer or something. I must have passed the test because we are still together.
Rob proposed by having me (Melanie) put together a puzzle he got me for Christmas. The final puzzle was a red rose with the words ” Will You Marry Me? ” printed on the puzzle. I said yes!
We wanted a simple outdoor ceremony. We both love being out in nature and Chapel In the Hollow suited us. We also wanted to make this an enjoyable vacation for our five children.
We love doing anything outdoors, hiking, kayaking, cycling, or just going for a walk. We also enjoy just lounging around and watching movies.
