Family-Centered Micro Wedding
in the Smoky Mountains
Karley and Preston – July 1, 2025
At Chapel in the Hollow, we’re lucky to witness hundreds of beautiful love stories unfold beneath the trees — but there’s something extra special about weddings that center around family. Karley and Preston’s family-centered micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains was one of those unforgettable celebrations that felt like sunshine, legacy, and love all rolled into one heartfelt summer day.
A Ceremony Wrapped in Love and Legacy
Karley and Preston chose a micro wedding in East Tennessee that felt both deeply personal and effortlessly joyful. The chapel was draped in soft cream fabric and decorated with Chapel in the Hollow’s signature blue and yellow florals — a classic pairing that mirrored the brightness of the day and the happiness of everyone in attendance.
But what made this wedding stand out was the way it celebrated everyone. Karley and Preston didn’t just promise forever to each other — they included their children front and center in the day’s festivities. Their daughters stood as bridesmaids beside Karley, while their sons supported Preston as groomsmen. It was a full-circle family moment, and one that truly embodied what a family-first wedding is all about.
The Bride’s Look: Classic Meets Whimsy
Karley was the picture of Southern bridal charm in an off-the-shoulder gown from David’s Bridal. The layers of lace and tulle flowed gracefully behind her, adding that fairytale element we all love. Her delicate lace-edged veil gave the look a romantic vintage flair, and her blue floral heels from Betsey Johnson brought the perfect pop of playful personality — bows and all!
Her mom and grandma helped her get ready, and the love in that bridal suite was palpable. These quiet, generational moments are the ones that stay with us.
A Family-Focused Ceremony
Preston looked dapper in a dark blue suit from Men’s Wearhouse, coordinating effortlessly with the wedding florals and his sons. Guests stayed cool on the warm July day thanks to thoughtfully provided handheld fans (a must-have for summer weddings in the South!).
Her dad walked her down the aisle, and beneath the shade of the trees, Karley and Preston exchanged vows that brought more than a few misty eyes to the crowd. Afterward, they shared a sweet first dance in front of their family — a moment that felt equal parts spontaneous and deeply meaningful.
Photo Adventures in the Forest
After family portraits at the chapel, we wandered around the property for couple photos in some of our favorite spots. From the lush highlands and shaded forest road to the charming chapel sign and the wide-open field with mountain views, Star Noir Studio captured it all with warm, glowing beauty.
This is the kind of day that shows just how magical a family-centered micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains can be — filled with connection, comfort, and celebration.
Why Choose a Family-Centered Micro Wedding?
Micro weddings offer the perfect chance to include those you love most in a meaningful, relaxed setting. Karley and Preston’s day is proof that small doesn’t mean simple — it means intentional. It means spending more time with the people who’ve helped shape your story and including your children in the next chapter of your lives.
Whether you’re blending families or honoring generations, a family-focused wedding at Chapel in the Hollow lets you say “I do” in a setting that feels like home — surrounded by forest, light, and love.
From the Bride
We met at Walmart and our first date was at a Mexican Restaurant with the kids.
Preston proposed by putting a ring on Christmas tree and me finding it while decorating. We decided to get married at Chapel in the Hollow after watching your videos on Tik Tok. On our wedding day I can’t wait to see Preston’s reaction.
We enjoy spending our free time with the kids and friends.
