Fall Wedding in Tennessee – Destiny and Clayton

Destiny and Clayton – October 3, 2020

Rustic Country Micro Wedding

Clayton and Destiny joined us today for their beautiful morning fall wedding in Tennessee. They have such a unique and fun style that I think you will love!! These two sweeties first met in high school, but didn’t connect until later. Congratulations, Destiny and Clayton!!
From the Bride:
Clayton and I went to high school together but were just acquaintances. He says he always thought I was attractive and had an interest in me but it was not until shortly after high school we connected. We went out on a couple dates before we officially starting dating. About a year and a half into our relationship we got engaged and have been going strong for the last 6 years.
We are pretty simple people and our first date was just that. We met at a subway on my lunch break In between classes. That’s the first time we had seen each other since graduating.
Clayton proposed to me. He knew he wanted to but hadn’t had a definite plan set, it was in the moment. We were at my dads house and there is a balcony he planned to take me to where he would have me look down and see a sign, asking me to marry him. That unfortunately did not go to plan. He had the sign already set up and was going to take me upstairs on the balcony but I was too busy eating corn by our kitchen window, which also happens to overlook the same spot the sign was sitting. Clayton was very awkwardly trying to block my view from the sign and when I noticed him being odd, I noticed the sign. I was in total shock. I probably asked him if he was serious at least 10 times but of course I said yes! He still wishes the proposal would have gone to plan but it’s a fun story to tell none the less.
We had not originally planned our fall wedding in Tennessee. We had our entire wedding already planned back home in Illinois but when Covid hit and shut everything down, we didn’t really have many options. Our honeymoon was already planned for Tennessee because it is one of our favorite places. So we just decided to move the wedding to Tennessee and celebrate our wedding with immediate family.
We have been engaged so long I am just so excited to be marrying my best friend. It has been a long time coming and I know it will all be worth it. October 3rd, 2020 just so happens to be our 6th anniversary of dating. We thought it was the perfect day to plan our wedding.
We love to spend time with our animals and relax at home. A typically date night is dinner and shopping for things we really don’t need. We are home bodies and are okay with it!
