Fall Smoky Mountain Wedding – Michelle and Jon

Michelle and Jon – November 15, 2021

Fall Smoky Mountain Wedding

Michelle and Jon were our third couple of the day and our first fall Smoky Mountain wedding. They dressed the chapel in blush with our blush and marsala florals. She made some coordinating bouquets for her bridesmaids. Her gorgeous dress was handmade from Etsy, and it photographed SO beautifully. They booked two hours so we had plenty of time to play for the camera, and they just oozed charisma for us. I got to meet a fellow Canon mirrorless enthusiast and may have gotten a little excited, lol. πŸ˜‰ Congratulations, Michelle and Jon!!
From the Bride:
Jon and I met each other over a decade ago when I started working at the same local pizza restaurant as him. Our relationship has taken many forms over the decade, but began as coworkers. We then spent many years as friends before realizing we both wanted more. I think we both sought out each others company at work and gravitated towards each other at other events. I always thought it was so cheesy when people would say they are marrying their best friend, but I truly am.
We were friends for so many years that we have both had trouble pinpointing the first official date. I was so oblivious to his interest in something more that I invited other friends on what he thought would be our first few β€œdates”. Eventually Jon made his intentions clear, and we’ve settled on our first date being the first time I cooked dinner for just the two of us. After our first kiss I forgot all about being scared to risk our friendship and was all in on dating.
Jon proposed. Being his usual thoughtful self he asked for examples of rings I liked for β€œif” he were thinking of proposing. I sent examples thinking maybe months or even years from then he may be asking me. Two weeks later we go to visit my family on the Mississippi gulf coast. We spent the afternoon with my family and then he suggested we go visit my favorite neighborhood beach spot to watch the sunset. Jon nervously got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife with one of the rings I sent him a couple weeks before.
Jon is in medical school and we planned our wedding for one of his rare breaks. We decided on a destination wedding so we could also have a getaway!!
The thing we are looking forward to most on our wedding day is being married by the end of it!! I think we’ve known for a very long time that we should be each other’s person, and are both looking forward to it being official!!
Jon and I both enjoy a lot of the same things in our leisure time. A typical summer date can be kayaking or finding a new hiking trail. We visit New Orleans as often as possible for city exploring, and getting dressed up (sometimes matching) for new restaurant experiences.
