Easy Winter Elopement – Maria and Chris

Easy Winter Elopement at Chapel in the Hollow

Maria and Chris – February 22, 2026

Some love stories don’t rush — they grow, deepen, and become even more meaningful with time. Maria and Chris’s easy winter elopement at Chapel in the Hollow was a beautiful reminder that there’s no timeline for love. After 15 years together, they chose a quiet February day in the Smoky Mountains to finally say “I do,” and it was heartfelt, relaxed, and completely them.

An Easy Winter Elopement in the Smoky Mountains

Maria and Chris wanted a wedding day that felt stress-free, intimate, and meaningful — exactly what an easy winter elopement is all about. Nestled in the forests of East Tennessee, Chapel in the Hollow offers couples the magic of a Smoky Mountain setting without the pressure of a large guest list or complicated planning. Winter brings a special kind of calm to the woods, and their day felt peaceful, cozy, and deeply personal.
The chapel was dressed in flowing white fabric paired with blush and bashful florals, creating a soft, romantic backdrop that glowed against the winter landscape. Even on a chilly February afternoon, the space felt warm and inviting — perfect for a couple whose love has stood the test of time.

Effortless Style with Meaningful Details

Maria looked absolutely stunning in a white dress featuring an asymmetrical top and a sheer pearl-edged overlay that caught the light beautifully. Her pearl-covered shoes were a subtle but striking detail, adding elegance without feeling overdone. Chris kept his look relaxed yet polished in jeans and a tan blazer, proving that an elopement doesn’t need formalwear to feel special. His long, well-groomed beard added character and charm — effortlessly Chris.
They arrived together, excited and smiling, ready to soak in every moment. When Maria walked down the aisle by herself, Chris’s reaction said everything. The smile on his face was pure joy — one of those genuine moments that make elopements so powerful.

Personal Vows and a Joy-Filled Ceremony

Their ceremony was intimate and emotional, centered around personal vows that reflected fifteen years of shared memories, growth, and commitment. With no distractions and no pressure, Maria and Chris were able to focus fully on each other — exactly why so many couples choose an easy winter elopement in the Smoky Mountains.
The quiet of the forest, the soft winter light, and the simplicity of the moment made their vows even more meaningful. It wasn’t about a big production — it was about love, presence, and intention.

Winter Portraits with Mountain Views

After the ceremony, we celebrated with photos featuring their adorable pearl-covered cake before heading out for couple portraits around the property. Maria and Chris explored some of Chapel in the Hollow’s most-loved spots: the chapel itself, the archway, the highland area, the winding road, and finally the open field with sweeping mountain views.
Even though the air was cold, their happiness radiated warmth in every photo. Winter elopements have a way of stripping things back to what truly matters — and for Maria and Chris, it was clear that love was at the center of it all.

The Perfect Cozy Ending

After leaving the chapel, Maria and Chris headed to The Raven for dinner — a cozy, romantic way to end their wedding day. A quiet meal together after such an emotional ceremony felt like the perfect closing chapter to their easy winter elopement.
Fifteen years in, and still smiling like that — that’s the good stuff

From the Bride
Chris and I met in 2011 in Pennsylvania. He was a customer at the Harley Davidson Dealership that I worked at. Our first date was fun and relaxed. He came to my house, and we talked for hours.
Chris proposed on 11 Oct 2025. We had agreed from day 1 we would never want to marry again. He changed his mind. We decided to get married in East Tennessee because it’s where we live now. We love it here!!
We like exploring the Appalachian Mountains and surrounding areas. We like to travel. We love doing everything together.
