Easy Tennessee Micro Wedding in the Smoky Mountains
Tereca and Scott – June 9, 2026
Some weddings are filled with grand productions and elaborate timelines. Others focus on what truly matters: love, family, and the excitement of beginning a new chapter together. Tereca and Scott’s easy Tennessee micro wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was a beautiful example of how meaningful an intimate wedding can be.
Set against the lush backdrop of the Smoky Mountains, their June celebration was filled with emotional family moments, heartfelt tears, and the kind of joy that radiates from every photograph. Surrounded by the people who mean the most to them, they created a wedding day that felt authentic, relaxed, and deeply personal.
A Fresh and Timeless Forest Wedding
Located in the heart of East Tennessee, Chapel in the Hollow is known for helping couples create stress-free micro weddings that allow them to focus on what matters most. For Tereca and Scott, that meant celebrating with family while enjoying the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountain forest.
They chose to dress the chapel in white and dusty sage fabric paired with our white florals. The color palette was classic, elegant, and perfectly suited to the vibrant June landscape surrounding them.
The fresh greens of early summer were everywhere. Thanks to rain earlier that morning, the forest looked especially lush. Every leaf seemed to glow, creating a stunning natural backdrop for their ceremony and portraits.
One of the reasons so many couples choose a Tennessee micro wedding is because the scenery does so much of the decorating for you. The towering trees, woodland setting, and mountain atmosphere create a naturally romantic environment without requiring elaborate décor.
For Tereca and Scott, the combination of white florals, soft sage accents, and fresh summer greenery created a timeless wedding aesthetic that will never go out of style.
A Beautiful Bride and an Emotional Groom
Tereca looked absolutely stunning.
She wore a spaghetti strap gown covered in shimmering sequins that caught the light beautifully throughout the day. The gown balanced glamour and elegance perfectly, creating a bridal look that felt sophisticated while still fitting the relaxed atmosphere of their intimate celebration.
Her elegant updo showcased her beautiful smile and allowed every detail of her dress to shine. Paired with chunky heels, her look was both fashionable and practical for navigating the outdoor venue.
Meanwhile, Scott looked handsome in khakis, a crisp white dress shirt, and a navy suit jacket. The combination felt polished yet comfortable, perfectly suited for a summer wedding in East Tennessee.
As beautiful as they both looked, it was their reactions to one another that truly stole the show.
A Family-Centered Walk Down the Aisle
One of the most touching moments of the entire day happened before the ceremony even began.
Tereca shared a first look with all four of her children.
These moments are always emotional, but there was something especially meaningful about seeing her surrounded by the people who have been such an important part of her journey. Their excitement, pride, and love for their mom were written all over their faces.
When it came time for the ceremony, family continued to play a central role.
Her two daughters walked down the aisle alongside her grandson, creating an incredibly sweet and memorable processional.
Then came the moment that had everyone reaching for tissues.
Her two sons escorted her toward the altar where Scott was waiting.
The emotion on his face said everything.
By the time Tereca reached him, Scott was already wiping away tears.
And then came one final surprise.
All four of her children participated in giving her away.
It was a powerful symbol of family, support, and new beginnings that made the ceremony even more meaningful.
Those are the moments that remind us weddings aren’t just about two people joining their lives together—they’re often about bringing entire families together as well.
A Celebration Filled with Love
Their ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, surrounded by family and framed by the peaceful forest setting.
Micro weddings create a unique atmosphere where every guest feels connected to the couple and every moment feels personal.
Without the distractions of a large event, couples can truly be present with one another and with the people they love most.
Tereca and Scott embraced that beautifully.
Every smile, every tear, and every laugh throughout the ceremony reflected the genuine joy they felt at finally becoming husband and wife.
Exploring the Property for Portraits
After the ceremony, we captured family photos at the chapel before giving the newlyweds some time to themselves for portraits.
One of the things couples love most about Chapel in the Hollow is the variety of photo locations available right on the property.
For Tereca and Scott’s portraits, we explored several favorite spots including:
- The Chapel Steps
- The Highland Area
- The Forest Road
- The Vintage Truck
Each location offered a unique backdrop while maintaining the natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere that make Smoky Mountain weddings so special.
The highlands provided gorgeous open views and beautiful natural light.
The winding forest road created a romantic woodland feel surrounded by lush summer greenery.
And the vintage truck added a touch of rustic charm that fit perfectly with their easygoing celebration.
The rain earlier in the day left everything glossy and vibrant, creating rich colors and incredible texture throughout the photographs. The humid June air softened the light beautifully, giving us some truly dreamy conditions for portraits.
From the Bride:
We met online by the grace of God since I live in Texas, and he is from Tennessee. Our first date was in Nashville, and we return there as much as we can. We love country music and enjoy hanging out on Broadway. Scott proposed to me just before attending a Morgan Wallen concert in Indianapolis.
We chose East Tennessee for our easy Tennessee micro wedding because of its beauty! We are most looking forward to celebrating our big day with family.
