East Tennessee Summer Wedding – Maccia and Jake

Maccia and Jake – July 11, 2021

East Tennessee Summer Wedding

Maccia and Jake brought their families to us today to celebrate their East Tennessee summer wedding. They dressed the chapel in pink and blush with the blush and marsala florals. Her dress had tons of layers and was extra gorgeous. They had a moonshine unity ceremony — the first I’ve seen, and it was a great idea!! He surprised her with a brand new ring during the ceremony. Congratulations, Jake and Maccia!
From the Bride:
Jake and I met when we was 14 through mutual friends. I was from Oklahoma and Jake is from Iowa. My family lived in Iowa when we first met and after 3 months of dating my family decided to move back to Oklahoma. Jake and I decided that we were going to take on the challenge of making a long distance relationship work. Now I can’t lie and say it was easy it was very difficult. We spent many summer visiting each other and learning everything there was to learn about one another. Jake and I carried out a long distance relationship, but better yet an amazing friendship on top of that for the next 7 years. After Jake had graduated In 2010 he had packed up and moved away from all he had ever known and moved across the state to Oklahoma to be with me. After a year of living in Oklahoma Jake and I decided that for better job opportunities and for our family moving to his home state would be in our best interest. We continue to reside in Iowa where we continue to raise our three beautiful children and fur baby! This year has marked 14 amazing years together and we can not wait to finally share our big day with our closest family and friends.

Our first date was to see a movie together! We were so young I can remember feeling anxious as it had been the first movie my parents had ever allowed me to go see with a boy lol.Jake proposed to me on our 10 year anniversary. He had taken me out for dinner and to watch the new Beauty and The Beast movie. Afterwards we went back to our suite at Stoney Creek Inn where we had gotten a suite for the night.

When we got back up to the room Jake got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was just the two of us and very intimate.

Jake and I had brought our children to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area for vacation and instantly feel In love with the mountains. We knew that we wanted to do a small intimate destination wedding since we have been together so long it really wasn’t necessary for us to have a big wedding back home. It was just the question of where did we want to do it at! Visiting Tennessee instantly answered that question for us. It’s beautiful and exactly everything we have pictured for our destination wedding we wanted. I’m most looking forward to our first look and personal vows we will be exchanging.

For fun, we love to travel and would love to continue to travel together and with our children. We don’t do much alone as we love you spend time with our kids as well.
