Country Winter Wedding – Haley and Michael

Country Winter Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Haley and Michael – December 28, 2025

There’s something incredibly special about a country winter wedding — the quiet of the season, the closeness of family, and the way love seems to glow even brighter against the softness of winter light. Haley and Michael’s December wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was a beautiful example of everything a winter wedding in the Smoky Mountains can be: heartfelt, intimate, and deeply meaningful.
From the moment they arrived, it was clear that this day wasn’t just about saying “I do” — it was about celebrating family, faith, and the new life they’ve created together.

A Warm Country Winter Wedding Design

Haley and Michael chose to dress the chapel in white and gold fabric, paired with our red berry winter florals, lanterns, and gold décor package. The result was a warm, festive glow that felt perfectly suited for a December celebration in the woods. The soft candlelight and rich winter textures created an inviting atmosphere that balanced rustic charm with elegant seasonal detail.
Winter weddings at Chapel in the Hollow are especially magical because the natural forest backdrop pairs beautifully with cozy décor elements. For couples dreaming of a Smoky Mountain winter wedding that feels both romantic and relaxed, this style is a perfect fit.

Haley’s Emotional Walk Down the Aisle

Haley looked absolutely stunning in her sophisticated white gown, featuring a deep neckline and a long, flowing train that moved gracefully as she walked. The getting-ready moments were filled with emotion and love — her mom helped her into her dress while her bonus mom lovingly cared for their one-month-old baby nearby.
When it was time for the ceremony, Haley’s dad walked her down the aisle, a moment full of pride, happy tears, and quiet joy. These are the kinds of moments that make family-focused weddings so powerful — intimate, personal, and unforgettable.

Michael’s Nerves Turn to Joy

Michael kept things classic and country in jeans, a white dress shirt, and a black suit jacket — a timeless look that fit the relaxed winter setting perfectly. He admitted he was incredibly nervous before the ceremony, but the instant he saw Haley, everything changed. His nerves melted away and were replaced with pure joy, the kind that says this is exactly where I’m meant to be.
That moment — the shift from nerves to overwhelming happiness — is one we see often at intimate weddings, and it never fails to give us chills.

A Cord of Three Strands Ceremony Filled with Meaning

One of the most touching parts of Haley and Michael’s wedding was their cord of three strands ceremony, symbolizing faith, unity, and love. In an especially emotional moment, Haley’s mom brought their one-month-old baby forward so they could be part of the ritual.
There truly wasn’t a dry eye in sight. This beautiful inclusion perfectly reflected who Haley and Michael are as a couple — grounded in love, faith, and family. If you’re planning a ceremony that reflects your values, we love helping couples incorporate meaningful traditions like this into their day.

Winter Portraits in Moody Smoky Mountain Light

After the ceremony, we captured family photos at the chapel before heading out for couple portraits. We photographed Haley and Michael at the chapel, then moved to the highland area and the road, where the overcast winter sky created a beautifully moody atmosphere.
Despite being December, the day turned out warmer than expected — and these two were absolutely glowing. The soft winter light, quiet forest, and peaceful surroundings made for portraits that feel timeless, emotional, and deeply connected.
This is one of the reasons couples love choosing a winter wedding in East Tennessee: fewer crowds, stunning natural light, and an intimate experience that lets your love take center stage.
