A Rustic Micro Wedding Full of Heart in the Smoky Mountains
Some love stories feel like they were written in the stars — and Morgan and Daniel’s sweet celebration at Chapel in the Hollow was one of them. With dusty greens, earthy textures, hand-tied florals, and a whole lot of heart, their country boho micro wedding was the perfect mix of natural beauty and meaningful moments.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that’s rustic, relaxed, and totally you, this fall celebration might just be your perfect Pinterest board come to life.
A Forest Setting with Country Charm
Set against the serene woods of the Great Smoky Mountains, Morgan and Daniel’s day took place at Chapel in the Hollow — a hidden gem of a venue in East Tennessee that specializes in intimate micro weddings and elopements.
They styled the chapel in soft dusty green and champagne fabric, creating a neutral and romantic palette that blended beautifully with the surrounding forest. The addition of our candle and lantern package brought in that cozy glow just as the light began to soften through the trees.
Instead of florals from a florist, Morgan’s sister-in-law crafted their arrangements, infusing the day with even more personality and love. The handmade touches added a sweet DIY element that complemented their rustic aesthetic perfectly.

Boho Details with a Southern Twist
Morgan’s bridal style was country boho perfection. She wore a lace sleeveless gown from Vow’d via The Wedding Cycle, a resale boutique that helps brides say yes to sustainable style. Her embossed leather shoes by Myra Bag added a western flair, and her hand-tied bouquet, wrapped in leather, pulled the whole look together with rustic elegance.
Daniel brought his own country charm to the day, looking sharp in Wrangler jeans, a brown tweed vest, and accessories from Cinche and Amazon. Casual yet polished — the ideal groom look for a laid-back forest wedding.
And their rings from Kay Jewelers? A sweet symbol of their new chapter that sparkled just right in the golden-hour light.
A Ceremony Full of Heart
Before the ceremony began, Morgan shared a first look with her son and brother, two of the most important men in her life. They later walked her down the aisle — a moment full of emotion and meaning. Their ceremony, officiated by Pastor Dwayne Kight, was a touching blend of personal and traditional. The couple wrote their vows in custom vow booklets, creating a keepsake that will carry the memory of their promises for years to come.
We love seeing couples make their ceremony their own, whether that’s through personal vows, heirloom details, or family involvement.

Toasts, Cake, and a Whole Lot of Love
Once the“I do’s” were sealed with a kiss, the couple walked back down the aisle to cheers from their family and friends, kicking off the celebration with a toast and a gorgeous cake from Cakes by Bakin’ Bishop — a local favorite for couples tying the knot in East Tennessee. This cake wasn’t just pretty — it was the perfect mix of rustic design and classic flavor, and it made a sweet centerpiece for this charming micro wedding. Looking for a cake vendor? We love recommending Cakes by Bakin’ Bishop for their delicious designs and attention to detail!
Dreamy Smoky Mountain Portraits
With help from event coordinator Cici from Custom Love Gifts & Events and venue associate Ian Parrott, the day flowed smoothly from ceremony to celebration. And once family photos wrapped, we took Morgan and Daniel on a short adventure to capture some truly magical portraits.
We stopped at:
The woodland archway — perfect for romantic framing
The creek, where reflections shimmered on the water
The rock garden, a secluded, earthy backdrop
The highlands field, with golden sunlight and views of the Smoky Mountains
Each location added its own vibe to the gallery captured by Star Noir Studio, ensuring Morgan and Daniel walked away with a variety of moments to relive for years to come.
A Day That Felt Like Them
Every part of Morgan and Daniel’s day was filled with intention — from the leather-wrapped bouquet to the sweet son-and-mom first look, the handmade florals, and the joy-filled toast surrounded by loved ones. They kept things simple, personal, and full of heart — a reminder that you don’t need a big wedding to have a big love story.
If you’re considering a country boho micro wedding in the Smokies, Chapel in the Hollow offers everything you need for an intimate celebration, whether you’re planning ahead or dreaming of a spontaneous“I do.”
From the Bride
We were introduced through a mutual friend. Our first date was a simple ride in the woods getting to know each other. It was perfect! Daniel proposed after hiking up 425 stairs and strenuous trek down the side of the mountain at Amicalola Falls State Park while I was setting up our amazing picnic we had prepared he was pulling my ring out of his pocket. Thankful it had made the journey he got down on one knee. It was incredibly romantic, the creek sound flowing in the background and the birds chirping. All around amazing. We then had to hunt down a passer by to take photos.
We originally were looking to elope just the 2 of us, but our children didn’t like that idea of not being there and a friend of a friend mentioned Chapel in the Hollow from someone they knew who was married there. After looking it up online, we knew it was perfect for us. Small, rustic and intimately perfect. On our wedding day we are looking for forward to our vows and pledging our love to each other. We picked this date because it is easy to remember but also 10 days before what would’ve been my (the brides) mom and dad’s 48 wedding anniversary. We were originally going to do the same day 10/20 but it fell on a Monday this year making it more days off work and less time celebrating us.
In our spare time we love to hunt, workout, projects around our home. Typical date night includes dinner and shopping usually.
