Cottage Core Wedding – Kristen and Nicholas

Cottage Core Wedding

Kristen and Nicholas – August 26, 2023

Kristen and Nicholas joined us at Chapel in the Hollow for their cottage core wedding. The chapel was adorned in the softest blush fabric, a canvas for their own wildflower florals that painted the scene with hues of nature’s finest.
Kristen, a florist by heart, translated her passion into reality as she and her bosses curated the chapel’s ethereal look. Complete with white lanterns and moss balls, their creation added an aura of rustic romance to the day.
She, an ethereal presence, donned an off-the-shoulder fairytale dress accompanied by a long veil embroidered with delicate florals. Her red hair stood out in breathtaking contrast against the veil’s pristine white. By her side stood Nicholas in a light grey suit, a picture of elegance against the backdrop of their love story.
Their friends joined them, forming a small yet meaningful bridal party. With vows written from the heart, they shared promises that resonated with the very essence of their connection. In the midst of an extra-hot day, they persevered through the mugginess and sweat, embracing the warmth both in the air and in their hearts.
Kristen and Nicholas’ cottage core wedding was a symphony of nature’s beauty, love’s authenticity, and the creative spirit they share. As they stood amidst the dreamlike surroundings, they proved that even in the heat, their love remained unwavering, like a tranquil forest glen.
From the Bride:
Nicholas and I met in high school, he was a new kid and I hadn’t known much of him and then I saw him on a school spirit day dressed up as Gandalf from Lord Of The Rings and just told myself “yeah I’m gonna marry that goofball someday”. We graduated high school and went our separate ways, he moved and went to a college on the other side of the state and worked there. 7 years later we found each other again and he moved back home for me and my life has been whole ever since. He’s truly the love of my life.
The first date once we got back together after 7 years, was Halloween Night, we met at the lake where we had had so many dates before when we were younger, things fell into place like dominos, we got in the car to go to dinner and we blasted “Bohemian Rhapsody” in the car and both scream sung it as loud as we could. We gave out candy and watched movies that night & I just felt like we fit. It was all meant to be and I had my place in this world.
Nicholas proposed to me at the overlook of the Lake where we had our first date over 10 years ago. He proposed with a vintage family diamond in a custom setting from his hometown of New Orleans.
We decided on an East Tennessee wedding because we love TN and the views and community. We often vacation in TN and have always loved every memory we made there so we are excited to have this new special memory. I am most looking forward to finally becoming Mrs.Hillman and seeing our families come together as one.
We love to create Lego sets, play Magic The Gathering, paint, hike, jog, and cook together. A typical date night for us would consist of going to dinner, maybe a walk in the park and coming back home to play with our 3 cats Mercy, Peach and Mango.
