Casual Family Wedding – Amanda and Quintin

Casual Family Wedding

Amanda and Quintin – August 24, 2024

Amanda and Quintin’s casual family wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was a heartfelt celebration of love and unity, beautifully set in the cool comfort of an August mid-morning. They chose to dress the chapel in white fabric, elegantly complemented by our bohemian florals, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for all who attended.
Amanda looked stunning in a simple white sheath-style dress that flared slightly at the bottom, featuring a chic slit up the left side and adorable ties on the shoulders. Her mom was by her side, helping her get ready and sharing in the joyous moments before the ceremony. Amanda also wore a pearl ring and bracelet, treasured gifts from her grandparents, and another bracelet from her brother’s family, adding sentimental value to her bridal ensemble.
Quintin was comfortably stylish in a muted green dress shirt paired with jeans, perfectly matching the casual vibe of their special day. His three children, Amanda’s new bonus babies, played a significant role in the ceremony, receiving rings to symbolize the joining of their families and the shared bonds they now cherish.
Focused intensely on family, the couple was overjoyed to celebrate this significant day with their loved ones around them, making every moment of their ceremony meaningful and filled with happiness.
Congratulations, Amanda and Quintin! Your wedding beautifully reflected the simplicity, love, and unity that you both value. Here’s to a future filled with joy and the warmth of family.
From the Bride
We had known of each other for several years through mutual acquantances, but our relationship truly started with a friend request. We began talking (as friends) in April 2023. We had both recently been divorced. He made it very clear if I would quit being so stubborn he would love to take me on a date. I made it very clear he could stay in his lane.. until July of course!
It’s hard to say what our true ‘first date’ was..
The first time we hung out (and never stopped) was July 24, 2023. This was more of a group thing.
After that we had a couple outings with the kids and other family to Tiny Towne and the Zoo, dinner dates with friends, and a lot of movie nights on the couch. The first time it was just the two of us was a day trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. We shopped, ate, road the mountain coasters, and enjoyed each other’s company.
Quintin proposed one night in the living room. It was perfect! We were trying to finish up everything for our trip to Hawaii that was coming up. I was stressed and crying about a $10 pair of shoes from Walmart. He held my face and said “just stay right here” and walked out of the room. In a few minutes, he came back poured his heart out and got down on one knee in the living room. The house was quiet, the kids were in bed.. it was just us. He had everything planned to propose in Hawaii – the spot, photographer, even on a note on the ring box to ‘please be descreet’ as we were going to be flying. He said he couldn’t wait any longer and I’m so glad he didn’t.
We were both born and raised in East Tennessee. We live in Athens. It’s about 1.5 hrs from the venue. We are most looking forward to knowing that we will be married at the end of the day. We have been very last minute with all the details on the wedding and both of us have been known to say “it doesn’t matter because at the end of the day I will be married to my favorite human”.
The first time we hung out was July 24, 2023. I asked if I could be his girlfriend on August 24, 2023 (to which he responsed “I thought you already were”). He proposed on February 24, 2024. We decided then that we would be getting married on a 24th of some month.
Quintin has blessed me with three amazing bonus children – Karson, Hudson, and Layla. Nothing is better than our time as a family. To be honest, we are kind of boring when we don’t have the kids. It’s a good movie night on the couch for us. We do enjoy going to the lake, traveling when we can, and spending time with friends and family.
