Country Elopement – Shawn and Eric

Steamy August Country Elopement in the Smokies

Shawn and Eric – August 22, 2025

If you’re dreaming of a sweet, intimate wedding nestled in the woods with just the right touch of Southern charm, Shawn and Eric’s romantic country elopement at Chapel in the Hollow will give you all the inspiration you need. 🌿💍 Set against the lush, late-summer forest of East Tennessee, this heartfelt celebration proves that love is even more magical the second time around.

A Perfect Country-Inspired Setting

Shawn and Eric traveled to the Smoky Mountains to say “I do” in a setting that was as serene as it was stunning. They dressed the chapel in a soft blend of dusty blue and white fabric, accented by blue and white florals from Chapel in the Hollow, creating a timeless and peaceful aesthetic that blended effortlessly with the surrounding forest.

Their choice of decor channeled relaxed elegance—ideal for couples seeking a country elopement with a refined yet earthy feel. The warm tones of the wood chapel, paired with the gentle August sunlight filtering through the trees, made for the dreamiest backdrop to celebrate love. 🌳✨

The Bride: Cowgirl Chic Meets Forest Goddess

Shawn looked radiant in a strapless ethereal lace gown from AZAZIE, floating effortlessly with every step she took. The real showstopper? She paired her gown with classic brown cowboy boots—a playful, country-style twist that fit her personality perfectly and gave the day that extra “Southern bride” charm. 🤠

Her hair and makeup were flawlessly styled by Organic Infusion Hair & Nail Salon, giving her a polished glow while still letting her natural beauty shine through. Effortless curls and soft glam made her feel like a woodland goddess.

And in true independent bride style, Shawn walked herself down the aisle—strong, glowing, and ready for her next chapter. 💫

The Groom: Rugged Romance

Eric kept things simple and stylish with Ariat jeans and a classic button-down, staying true to his laid-back, country roots. The casual look was not only practical in the August heat—it was authentic to who he is. And let’s be honest, nothing beats a groom who shows up comfortable, confident, and 100% himself. 💙

A Ceremony Full of Heart

One of the most touching moments of the day came during the ceremony when Eric surprised Shawn with a brand-new wedding band—a gesture so full of emotion it left everyone teary-eyed. 💍😭

Their ceremony was officiated by Ian Parrott, and joined by Shawn’s two children and their partners, making it an intimate, family-centered elopement that overflowed with love. Everyone played a part in creating a warm, welcoming space for this couple’s second chance at forever.

Champagne Toasts + Epic Views

After their sweet “I dos,” the group popped open bottles of champagne to toast the newlyweds, filling the forest with laughter, cheers, and that irresistible sparkle of celebration. 🥂✨

The family took a few photos together at the chapel, and then it was time for romantic couple portraits. From the dreamy mossy tree to the twisting forest trails and the scenic mountain overlook, the Smokies offered one jaw-dropping photo spot after another. The light hit just right, and the love between these two? Unmistakable.

Second Chances, Mountain Magic, and Country Love

There’s something so powerful about a second-chance love story, especially when it’s celebrated in a peaceful forest hideaway like Chapel in the Hollow. Shawn and Eric’s day was proof that romance doesn’t follow a timeline—and that sometimes, the most beautiful love stories come when you least expect them.

From cowboy boots to champagne flutes, mossy trails to mountain views, this country elopement in East Tennessee was full of sweetness, sincerity, and sunshine.

From the Bride:

We met by happenstance and it was meant to be. It was a tale of two souls lost in this world finally finding one another. Some fairy tales really do come to life and we are ready to live our happily ever after. As all first dates, there are moments of nerves, uncertainty and what-ifs. However, although we didn’t say it that first date, we knew this one moment changed eternity for us both.

He proposed on Valentine’s Day. He kept it casual and did it in private at home, but it was a Yes for the world to hear! We are both lovers of mountains and the countryside. We took our first vacation to East TN and told ourselves this would be the perfect place for a country elopement, and here we are! I am most excited to become Mr. Podbilski’s bride and taking his last name as mine. This is the beginning of the second half of our lives and we can’t wait to make the most of it.

Pink and Navy Wedding – Reina and James

A Pink and Navy Forest Wedding
Filled with Sentimental Magic

Reina and James – August 21, 2025

If you’re dreaming of a romantic, nature-filled celebration with heartfelt moments and thoughtful details, you’re going to fall in love with Reina and James’s pink and navy forest wedding at Chapel in the Hollow. Nestled in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, our woodland venue offers the perfect setting for couples seeking a micro wedding filled with emotion, connection, and beauty—and this August day was a perfect example.

A Forest Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Reina and James made the trip to our secluded venue for an intimate wedding that combined natural beauty with elegant style. They dressed the chapel in soft pink and navy fabric—two colors that look stunning against the greenery of East Tennessee’s forests—and enhanced the look with our ombre pink florals and candlelight package for a romantic glow.

As an added touch of personality, Reina brought in potted plants to sit alongside the lanterns on the steps, giving the setting a warm, lived-in feel that blended beautifully with the surrounding woods. 🌸🪴

A Bride Radiating Fairytale Glamour

From the moment Reina stepped into view, it was clear this was a day to remember. Her strapless wedding gown featured vine detailing on the bodice and a flowing train that swept the forest floor like something out of a dream. She paired it with rhinestone heels from David’s Bridal, sparkling like stars beneath the canopy.

But the true showstopper? Her veil, delicately embroidered with white floral appliqués and accented with pearls. It was a piece of wearable art that gave her look a touch of soft, ethereal beauty.

Getting ready was a family affair. Her mom and sisters helped her into her dress, and she shared two tender first looks—one with James, and one with their sweet son. Her bouquet included a photo of her late father, and she carried one of his shirts with a sentimental phrase tucked nearby, keeping his presence close to her heart.

A Groom with Heart

James looked sharp in a classic navy suit from Todd’s Menswear, perfectly coordinating with their son, who played the very important role of Ring Security—complete with a tiny suit and briefcase. 💼💙

Reina surprised James with a lapel pin bearing a photo of his grandfather, and his emotional reaction was one of the most touching parts of the day. 🥹

A Ceremony Full of Meaning

The ceremony was brimming with personal touches. Reina’s mom walked her down the aisle, and their son met her halfway, symbolizing the merging of their lives as a family. The couple chose a dear friend to officiate, which made the vows feel even more personal and connected.

One of the most beautiful parts? A unity candle ceremony, with both of their mothers lighting the candles to symbolize the joining of families. The entire moment radiated warmth, love, and light—both literally and figuratively. 🕯️

Photo Magic in the Smokies

After their ceremony, we captured sweet family portraits before heading off for some solo couple moments in our favorite photo spots—including the archway, vine tunnel, and the dreamy forest path that winds through the trees.

We couldn’t resist taking a fun shot with Reina’s Jeep, bringing a bit of their everyday life into the story of their wedding day. 🚙💨 It was such a playful and authentic way to end the portrait session.

Their love radiated from every photo, and we’re so grateful to have been the ones to capture it through Star Noir Studio’s lens.

All the Heartfelt Details

Reina and James put so much thought into the small touches that made their day feel like them:

  • A rustic invitation suite that reflected their forest wedding aesthetic 📬

  • Leatherbound vow booklets to treasure for a lifetime 📖

  • A framed collection of photos on their memorial table to honor those no longer physically present 📷

  • A wooden ring box that added to the natural, rustic charm 💍

  • A tiny cake by Cakes by Bakin’ Bishop, perfect for sharing a sweet moment 🎂

Every choice they made was filled with intention—proof that even the smallest wedding can have the deepest meaning.

From the Bride:

James and I met at local bar in Bay City Michigan in 2014. The placed was called Lucky’s Pub&Grill. James was out with friends for a Batchelor party and as soon as I walked into the bar, I told my good friend Madison that one day I was going to marry him!

When James and I met during his friend’s Bachelor party, James and I hit it off great! Two weeks later James invited me to his friend’s wedding, and ever since then we never stopped seeing each other! Here we are 11 years later and still going strong!

James proposed in October of 2023. We mentioned that he wanted to take me out to dinner and that I needed to hurry so we wouldn’t be late. James took me to Downtown Bay City Michigan. He wanted to take me closer to the water and that’s where my two older sisters were. They had been waiting for us to surprise us!! My sister Angel took pictures of us and afterwards we all went and celebrated with a few drinks!

We chose East Tennessee for our pink and navy forest wedding because we love traveling to Tennessee during the summer!!!

James and I have been together for 11 years. We have a 10-year-old son. Zeke is our pride and joy and being able to celebrate with him is so exciting!! James and I were never into rushing things but this year we decide to finally tie the knot!! It’s been a long time coming but were excited to see what the future has in store for us!!

We love Tennesse!! We chose date of Aug. 21st, 2025, because I love attending the Jeep Invasion, we decided to knock both things out at once!

James and I enjoy family time. We enjoy taking random road trips! We enjoy hunting and fishing.

Romantic East Tennessee Forest Wedding – Tori and Tyler

A Romantic Forest Micro Wedding in the Smokies

Tori and Tyler – August 16, 2025

When it comes to dreamy forest weddings, it doesn’t get much more magical than Tori and Tyler’s romantic micro wedding at Chapel in the Hollow. Nestled deep in the heart of East Tennessee, our venue offers a one-of-a-kind woodland escape for couples looking to tie the knot surrounded by the beauty of the Smoky Mountains—and this August wedding was the perfect showcase for everything we love about outdoor ceremonies.

A Forest Fairytale Comes to Life

Tori and Tyler brought the romance to life by dressing the chapel in a soft palette of dusty blue and dusty sage fabric, complemented by our signature blue and yellow florals. They added our candle package, which created a warm, ethereal glow as they said their vows beneath the trees. From start to finish, this wedding was pure fairytale magic.
Tori looked every bit the enchanted forest queen in a sleeveless satin gown with a graceful train that flowed like poetry across the mossy woodland floor. Her hair was curled and gathered to the side, topped with a sparkling tiara that gave her a regal touch worthy of any romantic fantasy.  Her mother and sister helped her get ready, sharing laughter and love before both of her dads proudly escorted her down the aisle.
Tyler leaned into southern charm with a look that was both timeless and relaxed—jeans paired with a white vest, suit jacket, and baby blue tie. The summer heat didn’t stand a chance against his cool, classic style.

Meaningful Moments That Melted Hearts

What made this celebration even more special was the deep family involvement. Tyler’s father, Patrick, officiated the ceremony, bringing an extra layer of love and emotion to the proceedings. They incorporated a handfasting ritual—an ancient Celtic tradition symbolizing the binding of two lives—which added a timeless, heartfelt touch to an already beautiful day.
After sharing their vows in front of a small group of loved ones, we captured family portraits at the chapel, then whisked the couple away for some seriously stunning mountain-view photos in the field. Against the late summer backdrop, with the Smoky Mountains in the distance, every frame was pure magic.

A Micro Wedding with Maximum Love

Tori and Tyler’s day is a reminder that you don’t need a big crowd to have a big impact. Their intimate wedding was full of meaning, beauty, and the kind of love that radiates in every detail. Whether it was the glow of the candles, the warmth of the handfasting, or the sparkle in their eyes, this was the kind of celebration that lingers long after the day is done.
If you’re dreaming of your own romantic forest micro wedding in East Tennessee, we’d be honored to be a part of it. At Chapel in the Hollow, we specialize in creating intimate, magical elopements and mini weddings that feel like a page out of a storybook.

From the Bride

We met unexpectedly through mutual friends several years ago. We had dated for a few months and then decided to start a new life together. A few months after that we found out we were pregnant with our baby girl. Soon we had this blended family, an older son from Tyler and an older daughter from me. Like all couples we had ups and downs but were always drawn back together and are stronger than ever now. We decided to start fresh together in Missouri, I had just gotten out of a new program for work and he has started a new school and are ready to be married and spend the rest of our lives together. Our first date was exciting, calm and the most comfortable. I had never felt this way before and honestly knew form the beginning that we were meant to be together.

Tyler proposed, it was a day before my birthday. Originally he wanted to propose at this pumpkin patch I had been wanting to go to but unfortunately it was closed so he had to coordinate with my sister quick to find a different option. We ended up going to a nice park in town where the path led to this beautiful bridge known as Love Lock Bridge and we were exploring all the other locks left behind from other couples when he proposed to me while my sister was with our daughter taking pictures and video. Afterwards we put our own lock on the bridge.

Choosing to get married in the mountains of Tennessee was all my idea and he has helped make that dream come true. I’ve always the mountains and being out in the country and loved the idea of getting married in such a beautiful scenery. I can’t wait to marry my best friend in front of our family members and taking amazing photos!

We try to do weekly date nights but love just spending time with each other, our kids and taking them out on fun activities.

Family Oriented Elopement – Christina and Patrick

A Storybook Elopement Full of Love + Family
Smoky Mountain Celebration

At Chapel in the Hollow, we believe that love stories are meant to be celebrated in ways that reflect the heart of each couple. For Christina and Patrick, that meant choosing an intimate, family-focused elopement surrounded by the serene beauty of the Smoky Mountains. Their day wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a commitment to their whole family. And honestly? It was the kind of elopement that makes us fall in love with weddings all over again.

A Romantic Forest Setting for a Family-Focused Day

Nestled in the heart of East Tennessee, Chapel in the Hollow provided the perfect setting for this sweet summer elopement. Christina and Patrick chose to adorn the chapel with timeless white fabric and matching florals, giving their ceremony a classic, elegant look that paired beautifully with the surrounding forest.

Bridal Style That Sparkled

Christina was the picture of enchantment in a sleeveless gown from Grayce with a lace bodice and a glittery skirt that shimmered with every movement. As she prepared in the bridal suite, her mom by her side, we bonded over our shared love of books—a sweet moment of connection before the big reveal. Her look was soft, elegant, and completely radiant.
Patrick looked dapper and relaxed in a gray Kenneth Cole suit, the perfect complement to the relaxed sophistication of the day.

A Ceremony That Celebrated Everyone

From the start, it was clear that Christina and Patrick wanted their elopement to be about more than just the two of them. They wanted their children to feel seen, valued, and included—and they nailed it.
Christina shared a heartfelt first look with her sons (grab the tissues!), her eldest walked her down the aisle, and her youngest carried the rings in an adorable tiny bird’s nest. Meanwhile, their daughter sprinkled the aisle with petals saved from bouquets Patrick had given Christina over the years—a deeply meaningful and romantic gesture that perfectly reflected the intimacy of the day.
The couple included a family commitment ceremony, weaving their children into their vows. Seeing the joy and love on those kids’ faces? Absolutely unforgettable.

Golden Hour Magic

After the “I dos,” we captured family portraits filled with joy and laughter. Then it was time for couple portraits in some of our favorite locations on the property: the field, the forest path, and the vine-covered tunnel. With the sun casting golden light across the Smokies, the final shots of the day glowed with soft, dreamy warmth.
From the Bride:
We met in 1999 when Patrick moved to the high school I was attending. I remember asking him “how in the world does someone find Soddy-Daisy who wasn’t born here?!” He had moved for his mom’s job. We hit it off instantly and became great friends. We almost dated in college, but due to one lame miscommunication, we parted ways. We both married other people, but eventually those relationships ended. I was organizing our high school reunion and wondered how he was doing because I would love to see him after all these years. Once we reconnected, it was like no time had passed at all. We then realized the invisible string theory had happened to us! We worked a mile away from each other, our first apartments were across the street from each other, and we frequented the same places…and never knew it. We began spending time hiking and hanging out as friends. It was the most precious and, honestly, healing and sacred time for us both. That’s how we knew what we had was too good to let go of again. When life gives you second chances like this, we’d be fools not to take it. My kids ADORE him and he is SO much like them! It’s truly wild how much he had in common with them before they even met! Our story is one of redemption, love, faith, and healing. We’re both so deeply grateful for this second chance.
For the first date, we had the BEST time at Green Mountain! I laughed SOOO much on that walk around the lake! I remember how fun and romantic it was. That became a very sweet place to us.
Patrick proposed at Green Mountain while sitting on one of our favorite benches at the water. I’m not even joking, a flock of geese took flight across that water and landed right in front of us. They looked right at him like “So ya gonna do it or what?!” Hahaha He said the sweetest things to me. We both cried and I could not have been happier!!
We chose East Tennessee for our family oriented elopement because I have always loved Cades Cove. We love to visit Knoxville, Townsend, Gatlinburg, and the whole area. Plus, I had a dream to own a tiny chapel.
I’m most looking forward to being married to the person who is my absolute best friend. We get to truly begin our lives together. We can’t wait! I’m SO excited to have photos of the day with our kids. Having our kids play such a role in our ceremony makes me tear up! I cannot wait to have our ceremony captured with us blending our sweet family.
We both love to hike! We love to go out for a good meal then go to our favorite place to play chess! We also love date nights in where we do a nice dinner (Patrick is an amazing cook) and watch a movie. We alternate who picks! We both love music and reading. Music is very important to us both. We spend a lot of time with our kids. We love to play Ga-ga ball together as a family. It brings loads of laughter! We love spending time together and laughing a LOT!!

A Day Worth Remembering

This elopement was about love, laughter, and legacy. Christina and Patrick didn’t just get married—they built something together, right there in the woods, with their children cheering them on. Their wedding was a powerful reminder that family is at the heart of everything.
If you’re dreaming of your own family-centered elopement in East Tennessee, we’d be honored to help you craft a celebration that speaks to your heart.

Dia de los Muertos Inspired Micro Wedding – Jessica and Scott

Dia de los Muertos Wedding in the Smokies:
Colorful Micro Celebration

Jessica and Scott – August 15, 2025

At Chapel in the Hollow, we have the privilege of witnessing some of the most meaningful, creative, and heartfelt weddings. Jessica and Scott’s Dia de los Muertos-inspired micro wedding is a stunning example of how personal touches, vibrant culture, and bold design can come together in a truly magical way. This unique celebration, filled with love, color, and family, took place right in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, and it’s one we won’t soon forget.

A Bold Vision Comes to Life

Jessica and Scott infused their wedding day with rich cultural symbolism and bold style. The chapel was dressed in dusty sage and cream fabric, accented with our pink and orange florals, creating a festive yet ethereal backdrop. They were the first ever to combine our candles, lanterns, gold, AND pumpkin packages—talk about making it your own! The blend of soft, rustic textures and vibrant color created a look that was equal parts cozy fall charm and fiesta brilliance.

Fashion with Heart and Soul

Jessica’s dress was a showstopper like no other: a mid-calf gown embroidered with colorful florals and whimsical animals, paired perfectly with a custom-made veil to match. From the detailed embroidery to her perfectly coordinated heels, every part of her look was curated with intention. Her bouquet, from From the Heart Flowers, burst with vibrant hues, complementing the entire aesthetic.
Her daughters wore dresses that echoed Jessica’s style—two in black embroidered gowns, one in pink, and Scott’s daughter in classic black. It was a family fashion moment we’ll be swooning over for a long time!

Magical Moments and Meaningful Details

The ceremony was both heartfelt and stylish. Jessica’s friend helped her get ready, adding to the intimate, supportive vibe of the day. One of the most touching details? Their rings: Jessica’s made of moss agate set in white gold, and Scott’s featuring a mountain design on the outside and a whiskey barrel wood inlay—perfect for their outdoorsy, nature-loving personalities.
Following the ceremony, they enjoyed a joyful first dance under the trees, surrounded by their children and loved ones. Their cake—created by Hippie Bakez—was a tiny masterpiece, trimmed in gold and topped with sugar skeletons and bright florals, beautifully paying homage to the spirit of Dia de los Muertos.

Photos That Capture the Magic

After family portraits at the chapel, we whisked the couple away for portraits among the mossy forest paths and tucked-away photo spots unique to Chapel in the Hollow. Jessica and Scott were glowing with post-“I do” bliss, making our job behind the camera (Star Noir Studio) an absolute dream.
