Laurie and Codey – July 15, 2023
Rainy July Wedding
Amidst the enchanting beauty of the Smoky Mountains, Laurie and Codey embraced the magic of a rainy July wedding at our beloved Chapel in the Hollow! The chapel was elegantly draped in seafoam and champagne fabric, creating a dreamy and ethereal atmosphere for their special day. Our colorful wildflower florals added bursts of vibrant hues, reflecting the couple’s joyful spirits.
Laurie looked absolutely radiant in her spaghetti strap dress, exuding a sense of effortless elegance. Codey looked dashing in his black suit, a perfect match for his stunning bride. As if on cue, the rain held off until after their heartwarming ceremony, allowing them to exchange vows and promises under the open sky. However, the weather had its own plans, and as the sky darkened, we decided to venture to the field for photos, where the natural light was more abundant.
Suddenly, a thrilling thunderstorm arrived, surprising everyone with its power and beauty. Despite the rain and winds, the couple embraced the moment and fearlessly posed for some magical rainy photos. Their adventurous spirit and love for each other shone through every frame, capturing the essence of their journey together. As the raindrops danced around them, Laurie and Codey shared laughs, smiles, and tender embraces, creating memories that would be cherished forever. Their love was like a beacon of warmth amidst the storm, radiating pure joy and happiness.
We are incredibly honored to have been a part of Laurie and Codey’s remarkable day, capturing the essence of their love amidst the beauty of nature’s elements. May their love continue to blossom, just like the wildflowers that adorned their celebration. Congratulations to the beautiful couple on their union!
From the Bride:
We met almost three years ago on a dating app (shhh don’t tell my dad). He picked me up from my college campus and we went to a local coffee shop where we sat and got to know more about each other. We both showed up to the date wearing flannels, matching accidentally. I remember telling my friends it was a sign haha. We went to the park where he taught me how to ride a one-wheel. I fell off of it and ate dirt, and he just helped me right back onto it. Neither of us wanted the date to end but there wasn’t anything to do in such a small town, so we wandered around Walmart and Lowe’s for a couple hours, killing time and talking. I remember texting my friend and telling her that this guy was amazing, and that there had to be some kind of catch (I haven’t found it yet).
Codey proposed to me. I was going to eat dinner with a friend, and her mom is an Avid Facebook marketplace user. Her mom gets into sketchy situations for some of those finds, but who can blame her?. Anyways, my friend tells me that her mom found an item on Facebook marketplace and the person lives in the town we are at. So my friend asks me if I will go pick it up with her, and meet the guy at a local park. It’s getting dark and I don’t want her to get murdered over a coffee table, so I say I will go with her. We get to the park, and there is no one there. I am convinced this was a trap and we will be murdered. Right when I am about to start HYPERVENTILATING, my friend tells me to get out of the car. Then, it dawns on me. We walk the path to the gazebo and there Codey is, holding a bouquet of roses, standing in a heart of rose petals, with candles around him. It was a magical moment.
We love Gatlinburg, and it’s only about 4 hours away from us , so we decided on an East Tennessee wedding! I am looking forward marrying my best friend!! And being surrounded by the people who matter most to us. for fun, we love to go for bike rides, go for walks with our dog Bailey (yes his name is Bailey, I named him before I met Codey lol), watch movies, play board games, and eat at Texas Roadhouse (mmmm them rolls).
