Nature-Inspired Micro Wedding – Emily and Alex

Emily and Alex – July 8, 2023

Nature-Inspired Micro Wedding

Let’s celebrate the love and joy of Emily and Alex as they embark on their nature-inspired micro wedding at Chapel in the Hollow!
Their love for the outdoors was evident as they transformed the chapel into a captivating haven of lavender and white. The delicate fabric choices perfectly complemented the natural beauty of their surroundings.
Emily looked absolutely radiant in her short, simple dress, giving a carefree and bohemian vibe. The bold floral crown and bouquet added beautiful pops of color, reflecting their love for nature and adding a touch of whimsy to her bridal ensemble. Alex embraced a casual chic look, opting for navy pants paired with a patterned white shirt and suspenders, perfectly matching Emily’s relaxed and nature-inspired style. He also had a collar spray instead of the traditional boutonniere that looked fabulous.
As park rangers, it was only natural for Emily and Alex to have their wedding in the surroundings they love. Their shared passion for the outdoors shone through their entire celebration, creating a truly authentic and meaningful experience. The heartfelt moment of Emily’s dad walking her down the aisle added an extra touch of emotion to their ceremony, symbolizing the love and support of their families. Their loved ones were overjoyed to celebrate this special occasion with them, sharing in the happiness and excitement of their union.
In addition to celebrating their marriage, Emily and Alex had another reason to rejoice – they are expecting a new addition to their family soon! The anticipation and joy of becoming parents added an extra layer of happiness to their wedding day, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with love and adventure.
We feel incredibly honored to have been a part of Emily and Alex’s love-filled celebration, capturing the precious memories of their union in the embrace of nature. May their journey be filled with endless love, joy, and beautiful moments as they embark on this new chapter together. Congratulations to the beautiful couple and their growing family!
From the Bride:
We met on Tinder (lol!) during college. At the time we were going to different schools in the same city. I was using the app as kind of a joke, but once I matched with Alex we started messaging and I loved how funny he was and nice to talk to. After texting for a month or so, we started dating!
I love our first date story! I was super nervous to finally meet in person and go on a date. We met at a coffee shop then went to a park that was next door. We walked around the park and sat on a bench and just talked for hours and hours. We talked about all sorts of things, life, school, interesting stories, etc. I loved how the conversation flowed and was interesting the whole time. Evening rolled around and a band started playing outside the coffee shop, it was a nice ambiance and it was November so the weather was pleasant. It started to get pretty dark out and we had been there enjoying our time for at least 3-4 hours. He started walking me to my car, and I quickly checked my phone which had been on silent in my bag the whole time. I had about a million texts and missed calls from my roommates, who were worried because I had been there so long and wasn’t answering – they thought I had gotten kidnapped or something! And they were actually there in the parking lot, they were coming to find me! I quickly called them and told them I was fine and to leave, and I told Alex what happened and we laughed about it. When we got to my car, he gave me a big teddy bear hug which was really sweet. I remember having that warm fuzzy feeling and smiling while driving home, thinking about how much I liked him! Oh, and he asked me on a second date while we were still on the first one, and of course I said yeah!
Alex proposed! We kind of had 2 proposals, the initial one and the ‘formal’ one. We had been talking about getting married for a long time, and when we got pregnant we figured we wanted to get married anyway, and so let’s go ahead and do it! We were just driving home from the grocery store talking about future plans and life and how we wanted to spend it with each other, and Alex asked and I said yes! A couple months later, we went on a hike at Purchase Knob and after the hike we were exploring this big open field with beautiful views. We saw a birdhouse with eggs in it, and watched both parents come tend to the nest, and it reminded us of our growing family and future. He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring, which he got custom made, and asked me to marry him, and I said yes of course!
We decided on an East Tennessee wedding because  we’ve lived here for the past year-ish, and love the mountains and local nature. We also wanted to have it close to home. We are looking forward to the celebration of love, us, and being able to share it with and spend quality time together with our close family members.
For fun, we like to do things related to nature and/or food! We like going for hikes, especially in Great Smoky Mountains National Park where we both work, taking our dog to the river, watching birds and other animals. We like going to restaurants and enjoying good vegetarian food, we have some favorite places and also enjoy trying new ones. We like to cook together sometimes. Occasionally we’ll go to a rock concert or music festival which is really fun. We also like video games (Alex much more than me) and having (board) game nights with friends. We don’t collect anything; a typical date night would be going on a cool hike then out to breakfast or lunch, or going to dinner out and then going on a walk and maybe grabbing dessert, going home and playing a game or watching a movie together. I am about 6 months pregnant, we have a baby girl due in October and her name is Violet! We are also buying our first house in September!
