Mid-October Micro Wedding
Elizabeth and EJ – October 18, 2023
Elizabeth and EJ graced us with their presence once again for their mid-October micro wedding. This time around, they adorned the chapel with the understated elegance of cream and sage fabrics, choosing to let the natural beauty of the space shine without additional florals. The warm glow of our lantern and candle package added a touch of magic to the setting.
Elizabeth looked simply breathtaking in her lacy white dress, featuring long illusion lace sleeves and a mid-length veil. She was the picture of timeless grace. Meanwhile, EJ exuded sophistication in a navy suit paired with a charming pocket boutonniere.
Their beloved Barkley, the furry family member, had a very special role as the ring bearer. And the flower girl added a unique twist to the ceremony with her enormous bubble gun, filling the air with joy and laughter.
A memory table was thoughtfully arranged on a rustic whiskey barrel, allowing their guests to cherish the moments that have led to this beautiful day. For a fun and creative guest book, they opted for Polaroid photos, ensuring that every guest left behind their own special memory.
Their special day unfolded in the great outdoors, and Elizabeth even shared a heartwarming first look with their four-legged friend, Barkley. As a lovely finale, both of their families are enjoying a week together in a large cabin. This gathering promises to be filled with cherished moments, love, and laughter.
We couldn’t be happier for Elizabeth and EJ as they continue their journey of love, and we’re delighted to have been part of their story.
From the Bride and Groom:
Elizabeth was a social worker at a local hospital in Pensacola, and EJ was a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) customer services representative. Elizabeth would call EJs office daily to talk to him and order medical equipment for the patients leaving the hospital. Despite never meeting in person, they developed a professional friendship quickly. On February 9th, 2019 one of EJ’s coworkers invited both Elizabeth and EJ to his birthday dinner. It was there, in the McGuire’s parking lot, that EJ and Elizabeth met for the first time. Both of EJ and Elizabeth are very much homebodies and not much for large group dinners. Elizabeth swears to this day that EJ was walking back to his truck to bail on the 15+ group dinner, which he denies still. They ended up talking in the parking lot while waiting on the table and then very innocently shared a menu during dinner. Between the long wait for a table and dinner, they talked for almost 4 hours that night. Before they left the restaurant, Elizabeth gave her number to EJ and hoped that he would walk her to her car. EJ didn’t want to come across as a creep, so instead he text Elizabeth from his truck to make sure she made it to her car safely. They went in their first date a couple of days later, and the rest is history.
Our first date was on February 12th, 2019 at Rock N Roll Sushi. I was running late (as usual) and didn’t want EJ to think I was standing him up. He wore a gray button up shirt and slacks, I wore a maroon dress with a denim jacket and booties. We have great conversation while eating ragoons. I ordered a California Roll, which EJ still teases her about because it was boring sushi. After dinner EJ walked me to my car and tried to kiss me in the parking lot. I skillfully dodged his kiss and then drove the 45-minute drive home. He thought he blew it right then and there when I didn’t text back, but all was well, and we went back to the same restaurant for our one-year anniversary.
EJ proposed on February 12th, 2022. It was our 3rd anniversary. We were planning to go up to Ej’s mom’s farm for dinner, and I was so mad with EJ all day, because I thought that he forgot our anniversary and that his mom was bailing him out by coming up with plans for us. when we arrived at the farm his mom and sister had a special picnic set up and served us a sushi dinner. After dinner, EJ gave me a gift that was a sign that said “will you marry me”. I looked up to see EJ on his knee with a ring pop. He proposed with his late grandmother’s engagement ring (that was much too small) so he gave me a ring pop.
Elizabeth and EJ took their first trip together to Gatlinburg. They have always loved the mountains and thought this would be the best way to celebrate getting married. I am excited to wear my dress and say I love you to the man of my dreams. I am excited to see everyone we love there in one place to support us, and of course getting to celebrate saying “I Do” to my forever.
For fun, we are homebodies. We have two tvs in our living room and our favorite thing to do is to spend time together. I get to watch all my reality TV on the big TV with sound and EJ plays video games on the other TV on mute. It is a great way to be present together while enjoying the different things that we like.
We have a golden retriever named Barkley. He is 2 years old and is very much our fur baby. He will be in the wedding and is wearing a suit. I would love to do a first look with Barkley if possible. lol.
