Lavender Themed Micro Wedding
Meagan and Nate – March 1, 2025
From the Bride
We met our freshman year of college in 2015. My sister and I went to grade school with Gage (groomsmen) and Nate went to high school with him where they became best friends. My sister, Gage, Nate and myself all started off in the same classes. So we reconnected with Gage and he introduced us to Nate. We quickly developed a friend group. Very quickly Nate and I often texted each other a lot. We often found ourselves alone. We would go play basketball while everyone else was in class. I quickly realized I was developing feelings for Nate because I didn’t like football but I went to a St. X football game with Nate just him and me because everyone else couldn’t go. My sister and I would also share a car, so one day I had my Mom drive me to Chris’s (best man and brother of Nate) wrestling match so I could hangout with Nate. Not even a month later, Nate and I were in the parking lot about to go eat dinner with our friend group after school. We rode in the same car together. Nate asked if I would go out with him and I said yes! He responded with are you sure because you don’t have too. I said yes I’m sure, since then our relationship and love has grown into something beautiful and strong. We make each other happy and I wouldn’t trade him for anything. Our first date was October 9. Nate took me out to look park called Bernheim. This is where we shared our love for the outdoors together. We went out on a sky bridge and overlooked this beautiful scenery. Nate took me to this lake that was where he had amazing snacks to pick from and we laughed and shared moments of who we were to each other.
We went on a trip to some state parks. We started out at Natural Tunnel State Park. We went hiking on several trails, but then we came across a beautiful clearing with a stunning view. We stayed there for awhile just taking in the view. We decided to head back to the car. When we got back to the car Nate suggested we go back up there and eat some snacks we had. I didn’t want to because I had to climb back up a long hill. But he convinced me so we got up there and set up a little picnic area. We were eating snacks. After we were done we were getting set up for some photos, when I turned around and he was on one knee! He proposed with a master ball! I excitedly said yes and he put the ring on my finger!!! We stayed there a while taking pictures and enjoying the views. I later found out that he left the ring in the car and that’s why he wanted to go back up to the top.
We love going to national parks and hiking. One of our first trips together was to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where we hiked Mount Leconte. We wanted to be outside to enjoy the nature and just have a small group of close family and friends to join us to celebrate. That was why Chapel in the Hollow was the perfect place for us to get married!
On our wedding day I am most looking forward to seeing Nate’s face as I walk down the aisle and saying my vows to him. Nate is looking forward to sharing a beautiful moment that will last forever. Getting married to the one I love most around our close friends and family.
There is nothing special about the date, we started dating nine years ago on 9/11/2015 and we got engaged on 11/9/2024. We felt like we wanted to get married pretty soon so we found a weekend we were off together and found a place we wanted it. So we booked the date!
We love to travel together our main goal is to go to all the national parks and 50 states together. We love having Lego date nights. Nate’s favorite dinner date is sushi, but I don’t like it but he always makes sure there is something on the menu I would like. We like to go hiking, camping, and hangout in the cabin at the lake in the summertime. We love taking walks together with our dog Mia.
