Intimate Winter Wedding
Taylor and Landon – December 27, 2023
From the Bride:
Landon and I met in high school. We were in the same science class in 10th grade. He sat across the room from me the first few weeks then eventually the desk were put into groups. Landon and his friend decided that they would sit at our group of desk because “we were smart and would do all of the work” (that didn’t always happen the way they planned lol). Landon and I had never spoke one word to each other leading up to this. I was the quiet kid in school who was just there to learn and get her work done. Landon on the other hand was very loud and outgoing/ never met a stranger (he is still this way). If Landon was in the room everyone knew it. After only a short time, we all became friends and even found that we had mutual friends. That summer we all continued to hang out together and Landon and I continued to grow closer to each other. One night while Landon was recovering from having his wisdom teeth removed, his loopy butt sent me a snap telling me that he liked me. I liked him too but I did not know how to tell him. Landon was my first (and last) boyfriend, so I did not really know what I was doing and was very hesitant when it came to being anything more than friends. We “talked” for about a month before he finally asked me out and I finally had the courage to say yes.
On our first date we went to see the new Men In Black movie. I actually ended up freaking out and making him bring his friend and inviting a friend of my own. He never questioned me, he just waited until I felt comfortable and did things at my pace to make sure I wasn’t worrying too much. That night he sent me text after text telling me how much he liked me and how he hoped one day I would be ok with going out with him and it just be the two of us. We ended up planning another date that next weekend to see Toy Story 4 🙂 . Since this date was just going to be the two of us my dad wouldn’t let me go unless Landon came to the door and asked his permission to take me to the movies. Poor guy was so nervous. He had never done that before. But he did it for me. He officially asked me to be his girlfriend that night. We have been inseparable ever since. He was and is my very best friend and the love of my life. He continues to be patient with me and will do anything to make me happy.

We were in the process of tearing out and putting down new flooring in the house that I had purchased 2 days prior. It had been a long day and we had just finished up the last room in the house. Everyone was irritated and tired, ready to go home. Landon and I had been fussing with each other all day and he left before I did that night to go back to his house because he was done with my bull crap lol. I stayed behind to finish vacuuming and cleaning up so that we could start moving things in the next few days.
Landon wanted to wait until I was alone to propose because he wanted it to be a special moment for the both of us. When he got to his parents house he sat down beside his mom on the couch. He was telling her about his day and somehow it was brought up that I stayed at the house alone to finish cleaning up. She immediately looked at him and said “what are you doing here then, today is the day”. He jumped up and was out the door in no time. He called me on his way to let me know that he was coming back to measure the doorways to make sure the tub we ordered would fit…. That was not at all what he came back to do.
I was in the kitchen cleaning up the last dust pile when he walked through the door. I could tell something was up, but I just thought that he was acting different because of our argument. It never crossed my mind that he was going to propose that night. I looked like a HOT MESS. My hair was in a very mess bun on top of my head. I had on the baggiest t-shirt I own and was wearing my dang Crocs. Not to mention I probably stunk from all the sweating I had done that day. He did not care one bit. He came over to me in the kitchen and hugged me. Then he stepped back, looked at me , proceeded to get down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately started bawling. It was the easiest YES of my life. Before he could even put the ring on my finger, I pulled him up off the floor and gave him the biggest hug. The excitement then hit me and I started jumping up and down. When I finally was able to calm down he slid the beautiful on my finger. It was perfect as was the entire moment. We immediately started calling and texting all of our friends and family. It was most definitely the best night of my life and a moment I will never forget! I am so lucky to have someone who loves me no matter what. Even at my worst he sees me for my best!
I lived in East Tennessee for a couple years as a kid. My parents just recently moved back last year and are in the process of finishing up their forever home. Tennessee is just so beautiful. The views are amazing and one of a kind. It holds a special place in my heart and I could not think of a better place to marry the love of my life.
I’m looking forward to MARRYING THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!
We had originally planned on getting married in June because that was when we first got together, but after stressing over a big wedding that neither of us really wanted, we decided that we would basically elope and that there was no need to wait any longer if we did not have to. I then came across Chapel In The Hollow and fell in love. Both of us were already off work for Christmas break so we decided why not and are now getting married 12.27.2023!
We really enjoy hanging out at the house together, completing projects/working on things. We just recently started our little farm so that has been our main focus. I always grew up with animals and loved it, so I knew when I moved out I would want to start a little farm of our own. We started with chickens. We are now working on putting up the fence and getting goats before next year! Our dogs are our babies and we spend a lot of time with them as well. I am also an antique lover so I drag Landon and our friends to antique stores just about every other weekend (they love it). Landon really enjoys hunting and all things outdoors. Which is why I am surprised he agreed to a December wedding (hunting season is not quite over yet).
