Intimate Elopement in the Woods – Christy and Donnie

Christy and Donnie – December 16, 2021

Intimate Elopement in the Woods

Christy and Donnie joined us on December 16, 2021 for an intimate elopement in the woods. They were waiting to tell their friends and family about it until everyone could be together on Christmas. They dressed the chapel in the white fabric with our red berry winter florals. Christy used our bouquet, and it looked gorgeous with their dress. Congratulations, Christy and Donnie!!
From the Bride:
We met in 1993 where I was working as a waitress and he came in to have lunch. Of course he caught my eye and a couple of the other waitresses. We were talking and giggling about how good looking he was. Picking back and forth about which one of us was going to catch his eye. We all watched as he left and noticed that he got into a blue truck, all the while still talking and giggling about him. About an hour or so after left, the phone rang and I was informed that I had a phone call. As I answered Hello this is what I heard, hey you don’t know me but I was in there eating lunch earlier today. Before he could say anything else I replied, you are the guy in the blue truck. He giggled and said yes, I was wondering if you would like to go out on a date. After a couple of weeks of asking I decided to say yes. We dated for several months and then went our separate ways. We would run into each other from time to time at Walmart or the grocery store, we would catch up about our families and go on our way. One day about 8 years ago while I was helping a mutual friend move some furniture we got a couch stuck in the door way, it would not go in or out. We called several people to see if we could get someone to come help. Guess who comes to help, the guy in the blue truck! Of course, he got the couch moved and helped us move the rest of the furniture. A couple of weeks after that he asked me out again and I said yes and we are still together.
For the first date, we went out to eat then riding the back roads listening to music and just talking. He proposed. One night as I got out of shower, written on the fogged mirror were the words Will You Marry Me? We do almost everything together. We like to do things outdoors from hunting, fishing, walking/riding the creek and hiking. His family has a farm and there are always things to be done. We cut, rake, bale and haul hay, tend to animals, fix fence and grow veggies. As long as he is on a tractor he is enjoying himself no matter what he is doing. We also enjoy hanging out with friends and family, going to festivals and looking at old cars. Another thing we enjoy is going to a open field and watching meteor showers.
