Forest Wedding Getaway – Amy and Jason

Forest Wedding Getaway

Amy and Jason – October 16, 2025

When Amy and Jason envisioned their dream day, they wanted something intimate, romantic, and deeply personal — a wedding that felt less like a production and more like an adventure they could treasure forever. They found their perfect fit in a forest wedding getaway at Chapel in the Hollow, tucked into the quiet woods of the Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee.
From the sentimental details to the emotional moments, their day was the perfect example of how magical a micro wedding can be.

A Ceremony Surrounded by Nature

Amy and Jason dressed the chapel in flowing white fabric paired with bohemian florals, striking the perfect balance between rustic charm and elegant simplicity. By keeping the styling light and natural, the couple allowed the forest itself to shine — a setting filled with whispering leaves, soft light, and the calming sounds of nature.
At Chapel in the Hollow, couples can choose from several décor options, including a variety of fabrics and floral packages, to create a ceremony that reflects their personalities. Amy’s choice of bohemian florals blended seamlessly into the forest backdrop, creating a romantic woodland sanctuary.

The Bride’s Radiant Look

Amy was absolutely stunning in her sleeveless Maggie Sottero gown with a medium train and veil. She glowed with that unmistakable “just married in the mountains” joy.
Her bonus mom and sister played a big role in helping her decorate and prepare for the ceremony, and Amy’s thoughtful details added layers of beauty and meaning. She included:
  • A bouquet adorned with her grandmothers’ jewelry for sentimental sparkle
  • A beautiful cake from Heidi’s Bakery
  • Vintage-style luggage for a whimsical travel-inspired touch
  • Personalized guest favor bags to make loved ones feel cherished
Before the ceremony, Amy shared a heartfelt first look with her dad inside the bridal suite, a quiet and emotional moment that set the tone for the day.

A Groom Full of Joy

Jason looked sharp in a gray suit from Ingram’s Mens Shop. But what stood out most wasn’t the suit — it was his smile. From the moment he saw Amy walking down the aisle, his face lit up, radiating the kind of happiness that only comes when you’ve found your forever person.
Their vows were heartfelt, their smiles constant, and their laughter infectious. This is exactly what a forest micro wedding is all about — slowing down, soaking in the moment, and celebrating love in its purest form.

Portraits in the Smoky Mountains

After the ceremony, Amy and Jason posed for family photos in front of the chapel before sneaking away for couple portraits in the woods.
We captured:
  • Romantic shots at the forest log (a favorite photo spot at Chapel in the Hollow)
  • Sweeping portraits in the open field with a Smoky Mountain view
These quiet, just-married moments gave them the chance to breathe, reflect, and celebrate together before heading back to family and friends.

Why Couples Love Forest Wedding Getaways

Amy + Jason’s day is a beautiful reminder of why so many couples are choosing a forest wedding getaway over traditional venues:
  • Intimacy: Celebrate with your closest people in a peaceful, natural setting.
  • Built-in beauty: Let the woods and mountains provide your décor.
  • Flexibility: Whether boho, rustic, or elegant, the forest is a canvas for your vision.
  • Stress-free planning: Chapel in the Hollow offers flexible packages that include décor, photography, officiants, and more.

From the Bride

We had similar groups of friends, and at one point my (Amy) downstairs neighbor hired Jason to mow our lawn. One night, I invited Jason up to hang out at my apartment, he came up, and the rest is history. I don’t know if we really had a first date. I count us going to breakfast at Waffle House one morning, but he doesn’t count that as a date. We just started hanging out and clicked immediately. We had been commenting about potentially getting married someday, and we were hanging out on his back porch with a couple of our friends. One of them asked him if he was going to ask me, and he got down on one knee right there.

Our first vacation together was a road trip down south – we went to a concert in Virginia, hit Myrtle Beach, Gatlinburg, and Nashville. Gatlinburg was our absolute favorite part of our trip. (Jason actually said he prefers the mountains more than the beach while we were there, and I am a mountain girl through and through.) We love the area. I was talking to my supervisor at work, and she was like, oh, you should see where my friend got married – and it was Chapel in the Hollow, and we just fell in love with it over the computer and here we are.

On our wedding day I am most looking forward to marrying my best friend, having the people we actually love with us and last but not least being a pretty pretty princess for the day lol. I like the fall and have always wanted an outdoor fall wedding. Thursday worked for us, so we went with it. We love going out to nice restaurants and trying new things; we like good food. Jason is an AVID Cowboys fan. I watch football with him, and am slowly starting to understand the game a little. We have a dog, Draco, and two cats, Sophie and Pickles. We like to travel. Jason enjoys working around the house and fixing up the yard. I love to cook and build Legos.
