Celestial Micro Wedding – Samantha and Mike

Samantha and Mike – October 24, 2021

Celestial Micro Wedding

Samantha and Mike joined us for a beautiful celestial micro wedding. They dressed the chapel in purple and blue with our white florals, and she brought some coordinating bouquets in purple, blue, and black. These two blended their families to form a sweet group of six, and the kids were SO cute! Her dress was gorgeous, and he looked extra dapper in his suit. They wrote their own vows and made the sweetest promises to each other. Congratulations, Samantha and Mike!!
From the Bride:
Mike and I met online shortly after I had moved to the area a couple of years ago. As we got to know each other though, we found out that our children went to the same school and our two oldest daughters were already good friends.
My first memory of him, however, was before I knew who he was. Mike customizes cars and has one very obnoxious vehicle that is loud and multi-colored and very hard to miss! I recalled that on the first day of school as I was waiting to drop my two girls off at school, I was behind his this vehicle and it had two kids hanging out of the sunroof, waving at everyone, having a blast…and I remember thinking how nice that seemed. How fun those kids’ parents must be. Fast forward six weeks, I find out that Mike was that parent and Zoey and Mikey were those two kids having a blast.
The first date was awkward. haha. We met up at a local diner for lunch one day while the kids were at school. Mike was very nervous, I was very reserved and cautious. Ya know, a normal date for two divorcees. lol. Not so awkward that we didn’t have another though! Mike proposed on our one-year anniversary.
Last Spring, Mike and I with all four kids went on our first vacation together and it was also in East Tennessee. We enjoyed the off the beaten path cabin, the trails, and the hills. We have traveled a lot of places since then but it was our first.
To say I’m looking forward to everything seems too simplistic….which I just conferred with Mike, he agrees but I am excited and looking forward to everything. We both came from prior marriages and have found in each other the pieces that were missing before. This is especially true as we imagine the kind of relationship we want our children to expect out of their own lives. If I were to have to pick one thing that I am most looking forward to though, I would have to say that it is the reaction of our children on the day. We have decided to keep this a secret until we drive down the day before the wedding so they will be surprised to say the least.
We love to travel, usually as a family of six. Weekend trips are a monthly occurrence but we did go on a two week trip out West at the beginning of summer break that was life-changing for all of us. We spend a lot of our time outside if the weather permits. Typical dates in the pandemic though haven’t been typical but we try to get a good cut of steak that we can grill at home and snuggle up together to watch a movie without the kiddos.
