Maddi and Matt – October 1, 2022
Boho October Wedding
Matt & I went to high school together at William Blount. We actually had gym class together when I was a sophomore & he was a junior. We knew of each other, but we were both in long term relationships with other people so we just stayed cordial as distant friends. Matt graduated in 2016, and I graduated in 2017. We both worked at Chick-fil-A through high school but at different locations. At the start of my senior year, my Chick-fil-A location had to be remodeled which caused the building to be shut down for a few months. Because of that, myself and my coworkers were spread out between other locations so that our income didn’t stop. Luckily, I was sent to Matt’s location. 🤍 Time was all we needed, because we had forgotten about each other…. until I received a message on Facebook from a guy I once had gym class with that said that he had seen my name on the transfer list. The rest is history! Six years later, we have been gone from our tiny hometown for 4 years and moved to Nashville. We went to Middle Tennessee State University and earned our bachelor’s degrees together.
4 years of dating, 2 years of engagement. This wedding has been a long time coming! We are best friends. We are so in sync. We know each other better than we know ourselves. We have become adults together. We’ve experience happiness and sadness but also joy. We have been through many seasons of life together & this is going to be our most exciting season yet.
For the first date, we went to the zoo, a wedding, & then to a haunted house together!
Matt proposed. He proposed to me in San Francisco, CA. He told me we were taking a special trip for my 21st birthday to experience all of the winery’s. Before we made it to a winery, he took me to a secluded spot. We had a perfect view of the city San Francisco & the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. It felt like the world stood still in that moment!
East TN is our home. It is where all of our family is. It is where we will come back to have babies & grow old. We wanted to be married where our roots are!
