Autumn Morning Micro Wedding
Lauren and Kegan – October 24, 2025
A Fall Love Story Set in the Smoky Mountain Forest
When crisp autumn air meets heartfelt vows and rich fall colors, you get something truly magical — and Lauren and Kegan’s October morning micro wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was exactly that. Nestled in the heart of the East Tennessee woods, their ceremony was an emotional, elegant, and deeply personal celebration of love surrounded by family, forest, and the golden glow of the season.
A Rich Autumn Palette: Rust, Navy & Candlelight
Lauren and Kegan leaned into the season with a color scheme that was both cozy and classic: textured rust and navy draping, paired with the venue’s candle and lantern package. They brought in their own matching florals from Ling’s Moment to decorate the chapel steps and pews — a lovely way to personalize the already stunning setup.
The result? A soft glow from the candles warmed up the cool morning air, while the deep, earthy tones mirrored the turning leaves in the forest. If you’re dreaming of a rust and navy fall wedding, this is pure inspiration.
Bride Style: Sparkle, Structure & Sentiment
Lauren looked radiant in a Martin Thornburg gown from Country Bumpkin Boutique — a sleeveless dress with a corset-style bodice and a layered train that fluttered with every step. Her medium-length veil floated gently in the breeze, and her sparkly silver flats from Amazon added just the right amount of shimmer.
Getting ready was a family affair — her sister-in-law helped with the final touches, and her dad walked her down the aisle, creating a moment that had everyone misty-eyed.
Emotional Groom Moment: Love at First Sight (Again)
Kegan, dressed in a sharp navy suit from Kohl’s and a rust tie to match the theme, was already dapper — but the second he saw Lauren at the end of the aisle, the moment overcame him. Tears streamed down his face as his bride walked toward him. It was raw, beautiful, and a reminder of how powerful love can be.
It’s those unscripted emotions that make micro weddings so meaningful — fewer distractions, more connection.
Vows, Views, and Dreamy Forest Portraits
Lauren and Kegan exchanged handwritten vows, filling the chilly October morning with their love, laughter, and heartfelt promises. The ceremony officiated by Ian Parrott brought both tears and smiles, set perfectly within our private woodland chapel.
After the ceremony, we captured family photos at the chapel before whisking the couple off for portraits in some of our most scenic spots: the mossy tree, open field, and the beloved mountain view clearing. With fall colors in full display and the light filtering gently through the trees, their portraits feel like they were pulled from the pages of a fairy tale.
All photos were captured by Star Noir Studio, our in-house photography team, known for their romantic, moody style and lightning-fast turnaround.
From the Bride:
We met at work. Kegan had just come back from deployment to Poland, and everyone on our shift was so excited. I didn’t know him at the time, and quickly got sick of hearing everyone say how great he was. I was honestly determined to hate him upon his arrival. We ended up stuck working next to each other most nights and got to talking. We found we worked so well together our boss just kept scheduling us in the same area because we were more productive that way. I convinced him to come to my apartment to play with my dog Mowgli. After that we spent more days together than we did apart, and have been inseparable since.
For the first date, we went hiking and kayaking for an entire weekend.
Kegan proposed. We were here in TN visiting family and he had planned for us to go to Gatlinburg for the day. On the way there he said we should go out to Cades Cove and drive the scenic loop. Cades Cove is special to us as it was our first camping trip together. While driving the loop he convinced me we should hike out to Abrams Falls and take some photos. I was resistant to the idea because I was wearing a white fur coat, ugg boots, and it was muddy. I complained the entire 2 mile hike in. We got out to the falls and he got down on one knee and I stepped in a hole and almost fell backwards off the rock. Everyone that was visiting the falls cheered and it was beautiful.
We chose East Tennessee for our autumn October micro wedding because the Smoky Mountains are special to us. We want to have the wedding somewhere where we will keep going back to.
We are most looking forward to celebrating the official joining of our lives together with our families.
For fun, we enjoy hiking, fishing, playing Fortnite. Typical date night is girl dinner (apps and snacks) playing games, watching our tv shows together, and enjoying quality time.
