Woodsy Winter Elopement – Kelsie and Brandon

Kelsie and Brandon – December 27, 2021

Woodsy Winter Elopement

Kelsie and Brandon joined us today for a woodsy winter elopement. They did something unique and fun and chose to have their ceremony at the rocky highland area, and they used our new winter tree accessory package for decor — it looked fabulous!! Kelsie’s off the should dress was so dreamy, and Brandon’s fitted suit looked excellent. They battled some high winds, but it made for great photos!! We can’t wait to see the video from Yugen Productions. Congratulations, Kelsie and Brandon!!
From the Bride:
We met at work from across the country and became fast friends. On the first date, Brandon cooked dinner for us and we built a fire outside. He didn’t realize then that he had set himself up for a lifetime of cooking dinner. We talked for hours and shared a bottle of wine. We talked about our kids, our pasts, and our dreams, and we very quickly realized how much enjoyed each other’s company.
Brandon proposed on a hike near our hometown. We were covered in a swarm of mosquitoes, but it was perfect. I’ve visited East Tennessee numerous times over the years. Last year was Brandon’s first Holiday season in the South East, so I booked a trip to East Tennessee for Thanksgiving. He loved the area as much as I always have and it seemed like the perfect place for our wedding.
I am looking forward to marrying the absolute love of my life and raising our children together.
Our original wedding date was set for 4/1/22– April Fool’s Day. We chose that date because, frankly, it made us laugh. Brandon’s family had some pretty strong reactions to him, and his daughter, moving clear across America to be with me and my children. There were a lot of waves that we had to learn to navigate together, from blending sibling sets, to managing unsupportive family members, and everything in between; we felt that April Fool’s Day would be hilariously perfect for the occasion. However, planning a wedding with four children, and the uncertainly of family support, we decided that a surprise elopement and an April Fool’s Day reception would be the perfect balance. Plus, getting married alone in the woods is just so “us.”
We just love being together. A typical weeknight (or any night, really), you’ll find Brandon cooking dinner while I sip on a glass of Cabernet and watch. We love exploring the outdoors together and staying up too late talking in bed after the kids are asleep. We genuinely just love doing life together, and that’s the best part.
