Tennessee Forest Micro Wedding – Lex and Dan

Tennessee Forest Micro Wedding
in the Smoky Mountains

Lex and Dan – March 20, 2026

There is something extra magical about a wedding on the first day of spring, and Lex and Dan’s Tennessee forest micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains felt like the season’s sweetest welcome. With soft light filtering through the trees, a peaceful forest setting, and a day full of heartfelt moments, their wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was the kind of celebration that reminds you how beautiful simple can be.

Set in Seymour, Tennessee near Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, Chapel in the Hollow is known for intimate outdoor weddings surrounded by woodland beauty. The venue specializes in micro weddings and elopements, offering a private forest ceremony space, elegant pew seating, a bridal suite, flexible package options, and plenty of dreamy photo locations throughout the property. For Lex and Dan, it was the perfect place to begin married life.

A Spring Wedding in the Forest

Lex and Dan chose a design that felt timeless, airy, and inviting. They dressed the chapel in white fabric and added the venue’s lantern package, which gave the ceremony space a soft, romantic glow. Lex brought her own florals to hang on the chapel, adding a personal touch that made the space feel even more special. Those kinds of details are one of the loveliest things about a Smoky Mountain micro wedding — couples can keep things simple while still making the day feel entirely their own.

They also created sweet welcome signs to place in front of the archway, instantly setting a warm tone for guests as they arrived. In a forest setting like this, those small personal details stand out beautifully. Chapel in the Hollow was designed to embrace that peaceful woodland atmosphere, making it ideal for couples who want a wedding that feels relaxed, meaningful, and close to nature. The venue is especially suited to intimate celebrations, including ceremonies with close family and micro weddings with up to 35 guests.

A Bride Surrounded by Love

Before the ceremony, Lex spent the morning getting ready with two of the people closest to her — her mom and sister. Those quiet getting-ready moments are often some of the most emotional parts of the day, and this one was no exception. There is something so grounding about starting the morning surrounded by the women who know you best.

Then came one of the sweetest moments of the day: a first look with her dad. It was the kind of moment that makes time slow down for a second. Full of love, pride, and a little bit of emotion, it set the tone for everything that followed. After that, her dad had the honor of walking her down the aisle, making their ceremony even more meaningful.

Lex looked absolutely beautiful — elegant, glowing, and perfectly at home in the soft spring light. Dan looked at her the way every bride hopes to be looked at: like there was nowhere else in the world he would rather be.

Personal Vows and a Tender Ceremony

One of the best parts of a Tennessee forest micro wedding is how intimate the ceremony can feel. With fewer people and less pressure, couples have room to slow down and actually soak it all in.

That was exactly the energy Lex and Dan brought to their ceremony.

They exchanged personal vows, and when it was Dan’s turn to read his, he got a little choked up. It was one of those perfectly real wedding moments — not polished, not staged, just full-hearted and genuine. The kind of moment that gets everyone in attendance feeling it right along with you.

Small weddings have a way of creating space for those emotions. Without the rush of a big production, couples can really connect with each other, and guests get to witness something deeply personal. That’s one of the reasons so many couples are drawn to micro weddings in the Smokies. Chapel in the Hollow specializes in exactly that kind of experience: intimate weddings designed to feel peaceful, beautiful, and stress-free.

Family Photos at the Chapel

After the ceremony, everyone gathered for family photos at the chapel. This is always such a sweet part of the day because the energy shifts from anticipation to celebration. The vows have been spoken, the rings are on, and everyone gets to relax into the joy of it all.

The chapel itself makes such a beautiful backdrop for these portraits. Tucked into the woods and framed by elegant décor, it feels private and serene while still being polished enough for classic wedding photos. Chapel in the Hollow’s setting is one of the reasons couples love it for intimate weddings — it offers that romantic forest feeling while still providing a dedicated ceremony space and easy access for guests.

Romantic Portraits in the Smokies

Once family photos were finished, it was time to steal Lex and Dan away for the part every couple secretly loves most — a little quiet time together for portraits.

They headed to the road and then into the mountains, where the light was soft and glowy in that way only spring in East Tennessee can be. Chapel in the Hollow is known for having multiple photo spots around the property, from the rustic archway and forest backdrops to the winding road, vintage truck, and mountain-view field. For Lex and Dan, these portrait locations gave them the chance to soak in the beauty of the Smokies while also getting those romantic just-married moments together.

The result was exactly what you’d hope for from a forest micro wedding in Tennessee — peaceful, natural, and full of warmth. No overcomplicated schedule. No stress. Just the two of them, wrapped up in that first-day-of-forever glow.

From the Bride:

We both met in downtown Nashville – he was on a bachelor trip, and I was down there for my friend’s birthday. For the first date, he flew down to Chicago to spend the weekend with me. Dan proposed on my favorite look out/hike in Pennsylvania. We chose East Tennessee for our forest micro wedding because we love the mountains, and we met in TN so it made sense to get married down there. I’m most looking forward to marrying my best friend. For fun, we enjoy outdoor activities. We love to travel and like to host friends and family at our house.
