Colorful Love in the Smokies Vibrant Micro Wedding
Dawn and Sadie – July 19, 2025
If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding bursting with color, joy, and personality, Dawn and Sadie’s magical micro wedding at Chapel in the Hollow in the Smoky Mountains is pure inspiration. From rainbow hues to heartfelt traditions and whimsical touches, this July morning celebration was the definition of a love-filled day.
A Vivid Vision Come to Life
Dawn and Sadie chose to dress our woodland chapel in crisp white and cool teal fabric, perfectly accented with our ombre pink florals and glowing lantern package. The result? A vibrant yet soft setting that felt romantic, fun, and fresh—just like them! Despite the sultry Tennessee summer heat, their happiness radiated through every moment.
Double the Bridal Beauty
These two stunning brides brought the fashion fire with not one, but two unforgettable dresses. Sadie wore a regal high-neck gown with flowing cape sleeves, giving major fantasy vibes. Dawn opted for a sleeveless illusion-back dress with a statement train that trailed behind them in the most dramatic way. Both wore delicate tiaras, and their accessories couldn’t have been more perfect: Sadie wore a star necklace and Dawn a moon pendant—celestial soulmates through and through.
Handcrafted Details + Heartfelt Moments
Their bouquets? A rainbow dream. Made from multicolored sola wood flowers and crafted by a dear friend, they were as meaningful as they were gorgeous. The couple also had the most thoughtful wedding party, with Sadie’s mom walking her down the aisle and Dawn’s parents accompanying them to the soft, magical tune of“Concerning Hobbits” by violinist Taylor Davis.
Sadie’s brother proudly took on ring bearer duties, while four fabulous bridespeople stood by their side. The ceremony was filled with love, laughter, and a few nerdy nods that made it uniquely them.
Post-Vow Celebration: Rainbows + Love
After exchanging vows, they added a playful twist with a bouquet handoff—gifting it to Dawn’s brother’s girlfriend in a sweet“you’re next” gesture. And the group photo? Absolute rainbow perfection. They asked all their guests to wear different colors of the rainbow, creating a vibrant spectrum of love in the middle of the forest. Rainbow fans kept things cool while adding pops of color to every frame.
We explored the property for couple portraits—posing at the chapel, by the winding vines, along the forest road, and even at a secret new photo spot exclusive to Chapel in the Hollow couples. Each photo radiated love, authenticity, and joy.
A Love as Bold as Their Palette
After soaking up the forest vibes, Dawn and Sadie headed off to their reception at The Lighthouse in Knoxville to continue the celebration. Their day was whimsical, personal, and unapologetically THEM—the kind of celebration that reminds us why we love what we do.
Whether you’re planning a colorful wedding, a forest micro wedding in East Tennessee, or looking for a venue that celebrates your love story in all its uniqueness, Chapel in the Hollow is here for it.
From the Bride
We met at work! We bonded over mutual interests and decided to become friends outside of work, and then things just kind of naturally progressed from there. We went out for Mexican food on our first date. It didn’t even really feel like a date, honestly. We’d been friends for so long at that point that it just felt natural to progress into something deeper.
Sadie proposed! It was kind of funny—we had just gotten bad news about someone we really don’t like, and I’m pretty sure the song “Crab Rave” was playing when she went down on one knee. Dawn screamed and said yes, of course, and then we just kept carrying on with our silliness. After calling our parents and our closest family members, of course. Dawn really wanted to get married in the mountains, and since our families live on opposite sides of the South (Arkansas and South Carolina), East Tennessee seemed like a perfect middle ground.
On our wedding day I am looking forward to actually getting married! We will be stuck together now, like glitter in carpet. We can never be rid of each other now! At least not easily, hehe. We chose a date in the summer because Dawn wanted to get married in the summer, then we realized after booking the date that we accidentally chose a date with two prime numbers (which we love!). Dawn’s parents also happen to have an anniversary that is two prime numbers, so it’s kind of a neat coincidence! But it wasn’t intentional.
We are just kind of nerds! We love video games, sci-fi/fantasy, and rescuing kitty cats. We have a head start on the whole “starting a family” thing with the house full of felines, to be honest!
