Beautiful LGBTQ Wedding – Kendell and Nat

Kendell and Nat – June 29, 2021

Beautiful LGBTQ Wedding

Kendell and Natalie’s beautiful LGBTQ wedding was originally scheduled in 2020. Thanks to the craziness of covid and life in general, they chose to change their wedding with us to a photo session. Kendell looked so lovely in her Lulu’s dress, and Natalie was super cute in the suspenders bringing out the Ruby Rose vibes with her tattoos. They brought the kiddos and all pulled out their inner models for the day. Congratulations, Natalie and Kendell!! We hope to see you again in the future!
From the Brides:
Natalie and I are both in recovery. We met on the porch of a meeting we both attend in January of 2017.
Natalie took Me (Kendell) to a tapas restaurant that Natalie was raving about. We’re both foodies so I was excited. We ordered way too much food and Natalie insisted I try the octopus. When it came out, it was legit tentacles with the suckers still on. I’m pretty adventurous food-wise, but we both decided after trying it that that was too much. I think she was embarrassed (haha). She then took me to a beautiful park near the waterfront (Jacksonville, Fl), where I thought she’d kiss me. She was so nervous! She didn’t kiss me then, but now years later, that park is where she proposed and has a tattoo of on her arm.
I (Natalie) proposed. Let me tell you… the week leading up to it was odd. Kendell had been in an “off” mood and not wanting to do much outside of our normal routine. I was acting bizarre, as it came down to the final planning and nerves were setting in. Emma, our daughter insisted Kendell and her get their nails done because Kendell’s nails “were ugly”. We had been taking ballroom dance lessons that I bought het for Valentine’s Day, and had one scheduled the day of the proposal. Kendell, wasn’t too excited to get dressed up and go because of her “off-ness” so I begged and drug her grumpy self out to the lessons. Afterwards I took her to our park where a photographer was hidden. Before we arrived there was a bouquet placed out for her. As we walked up to it I told her they were for her, where she assumed I was lying and trying to give her memorial flowers! After that craziness, I got down on one knee and started. Where I got nervous and mixed up the words, calling her weird. But Kendell (as she calls it) “ugly cried” and said yes! It fit us – the crazy, awkward, funny chaos.
Tennessee is where Natalie started her recovery journey and fell in love with it. Once we met, she had to share her love with the mountains. It quickly became our escape from the day-to-day and we come back every chance we get.
Since Covid and family health issues put a wrench in our plans, we got married in June of 2020 at a local courthouse. We are super excited to still make memories with our kids in the mountains that mean so much to us. We chose June because it was the month Natalie first took me to Tennessee and is our favorite time of year up there.
We love to try new foods, traveling, MUSIC and concerts. Music is what first connected us – we both love and know many different genres.
