April Micro Wedding – Dorky and Tristen

April Micro Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Dorky and Tristen – April 6, 2026

Spring in East Tennessee is something truly special, and Dorky and Tristen’s April micro wedding at Chapel in the Hollow captured that magic in the most joyful, personality-filled way. Nestled in the woods just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, their day was the perfect blend of laughter, meaningful moments, and effortless beauty—exactly what makes a micro wedding so unforgettable.

A Spring Micro Wedding Full of Personality

From the very beginning, Dorky and Tristen embraced everything that makes an April micro wedding so dreamy: fresh greenery, soft golden light, and the feeling of new beginnings. The couple chose a stunning color palette of gold and hunter green, pairing it with sunflower florals that popped beautifully against the vibrant spring leaves just beginning to fill the trees.

At Chapel in the Hollow, one of the things couples love most is the ability to customize their space while still enjoying a stress-free experience. Dorky and Tristen took full advantage of that flexibility, creating a look that felt both elegant and playful—perfectly reflecting who they are as a couple. If you’re dreaming of something similar, you can explore options and inspiration directly on our website: https://www.chapelinthehollow.com

A Stylish Bride and Groom

Dorky absolutely glowed as she walked down the aisle. She wore a sleeveless gown with a mid-length train that moved beautifully through the forest setting, paired with a short veil and delicate heels that added just the right touch of sophistication.

Tristen complemented her perfectly in a rich green suit that tied seamlessly into their wedding colors. His velvet-topped dress shoes added a unique, fashion-forward detail that made his look stand out in the best way. Together, they embodied that perfect mix of classic romance and modern style that so many couples are drawn to for Smoky Mountain micro weddings.

A First Look to Remember

One of the most unforgettable moments of the day? Dorky’s hilarious and heartwarming first look with her dad and brothers.

In a playful twist, she had the officiant step out in a dress first—completely catching her family off guard and filling the forest with laughter. Then came the real reveal, and the smiles that followed were absolutely priceless. It was such a perfect reminder that your wedding day doesn’t have to be overly serious—it can (and should!) reflect your personality and sense of humor.

Family-Focused and Full of Meaning

Micro weddings are all about intimacy, and Dorky and Tristen made sure their closest loved ones were part of every moment. Her parents walked her down the aisle, creating a sweet and emotional entrance, while their daughter served as one of the flower girls—adding an extra layer of meaning to the day.

And of course, they didn’t forget a little fun—ring security was on duty, keeping things lighthearted and memorable for everyone.

One of the most touching elements of their ceremony was the sand ceremony. Using sand collected from beaches that represent their heritage, they symbolically blended their lives together. It was a beautiful, personal way to honor where they come from while celebrating the life they’re building together.

Capturing Spring in the Smokies

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with family photos right at the chapel before heading into the surrounding forest for couple portraits. The mossy tree and vine-covered areas provided a dreamy, storybook backdrop, with soft spring light filtering through the trees and making everything glow.

This is one of the biggest advantages of choosing a micro wedding venue in the Smoky Mountains—stunning natural backdrops are just steps away, no hiking or permits required. You get all the beauty of the mountains with none of the stress.

Why April is Perfect for a Micro Wedding

April is one of the most underrated (and truly magical) times to get married in East Tennessee. The weather is mild, the crowds are lighter than peak summer and fall, and the landscape is bursting back to life with fresh greens and early blooms. For couples looking for a romantic, nature-filled setting, it’s hard to beat.

Dorky and Tristen’s wedding is the perfect example of how an April micro wedding can feel both vibrant and intimate—full of color, emotion, and unforgettable moments.

From the Bride

Tristen was best friends with my brother for years. Through their friendship we never interacted much or really crossed paths. After college we ended up working together. Eventually we started talking more and I asked Tristen out for drinks. He said yes but never got back to me on places he recommended. I took that as a no and left when my shift was over. Shortly after leaving, my brother calls me because Tristen told him I stood him up. I messaged him and apologized because I thought I got my answer and we’ve been inseparable ever since! (We never actually ended up getting drinks that night). I love sushi. When Tristen asked where I wanted to go on our first date I asked if he has ever eaten sushi before. He said no but was willing to try it. We went to sushi spot in downtown Boston and walked the town for a bit in very hot weather! Took a few stops to cool down before arriving but eventually we arrived. Even though he was afraid of consuming raw fish, Tristen ventured for a cooked eel roll and enjoyed it! To this day he still only eats cooked sushi but enjoys taking me out for sushi.

Tristen proposed when I was 6 months pregnant at a Disney Immersive Experience in Boston but this wasn’t his original plan. He had coordinated to propose on the roof of a friends beach house during sunset with my family and best friends present. My original plan that day was with my best friends. I wasn’t feeling well and cancelled. This made Tristen figure out a backup plan QUICKLY. A close friend who was present for the proposal recommended the Disney Immersive Experience and Tristen immediately booked the tickets. It was a total surprise and so sweet of him to include my family even when I ruined his initial plans causing my best friends to not be able to be present for the proposal.

We had been to TN for vacation twice. After two years of an engagement we were always going back and forth on whether we would have a wedding or elope. We toyed with the idea of a Vegas elopement but Tristen wanted to do that in June and I vetoed that idea cause this gal doesn’t do well in humid and hot climate. We had a vacation planned to see his family in WV and one day Tristen suggested getting married in TN and he already had looked at Chapel in the Hollow and thought it was perfect for something intimate. I browsed your FB and instagram and fell in love quickly! We are looking forward to finally being married and being able to experience this day with our little girl and family.

We love to binge watch shows together, go to concerts, and find random adventures on our days off with our daughter.

Easy Spring Morning Elopement – Jason and Nicole

Easy Spring Morning Elopement in the Smoky Mountains

Jason and Nicole – April 6, 2026

If you’ve been dreaming of an easy spring morning elopement in the Smoky Mountains, Nicole and Jason’s day at Chapel in the Hollow is the perfect inspiration. Their celebration was filled with soft blush tones, emotional moments, and the kind of peaceful beauty that only an East Tennessee morning can offer.

At Chapel in the Hollow, couples can experience a stress-free, all-inclusive micro wedding surrounded by nature—no permits, no crowds, just you, your partner, and the forest.

A Simple & Romantic Start to Their Elopement Day

Nicole and Jason chose to keep their wedding day simple, intentional, and full of meaning—exactly what an easy elopement should be. On a cool spring morning in the Smoky Mountains, the chapel was transformed into a dreamy, romantic setting with flowing blush fabric draped throughout the space.

This soft color palette perfectly complemented the fresh greens of the forest, creating an airy, ethereal backdrop that felt both elegant and relaxed.

Nicole embraced a non-traditional bridal look that was both stylish and practical. She wore a stunning blush pink dress paired with pink sneakers—perfect for navigating the natural terrain while still looking effortlessly bridal. Her hair was styled in a sophisticated bun, and she carried Chapel in the Hollow’s signature blush and bashful bouquet, adding even more softness to her overall look.

Jason kept things laid-back and true to himself in jeans and a black dress shirt, proving that elopements are all about comfort and authenticity.

A Heartfelt Ceremony in the Woods

One of the most beautiful parts of Nicole and Jason’s day was the quiet, emotional ceremony.

Nicole chose to walk down the aisle on her own, creating a powerful and intimate moment as Jason waited for her on the chapel steps. As she reached him, the emotion was undeniable—Nicole was moved to tears, and it was one of those genuine, unscripted moments that makes elopements so incredibly special.

Their ceremony, officiated by Ian Parrott, was simple yet deeply meaningful, allowing their love story to take center stage.

Dreamy Spring Wedding Photos in the Smokies

After their ceremony, Nicole and Jason took time to soak it all in before heading into portraits with Star Noir Studio, Chapel in the Hollow’s in-house photography team specializing in Smoky Mountain elopements.

One of the biggest advantages of eloping at Chapel in the Hollow is the variety of photo locations—all within walking distance. Their session included:

  • The Mossy Tree & Vines – Lush, green textures that feel straight out of a fairytale

  • The Open Field with Mountain Views – A breathtaking finale with glowing backlight and blooming blue wildflowers

The morning light was absolutely magical—soft, golden, and diffused through the trees, creating that signature Smoky Mountain glow couples travel from all over to experience.

Morning March Elopement – Tiffani and Tylor

Morning March Elopement in the Smoky Mountains

If you’ve been dreaming of a morning March elopement in the Smoky Mountains, Tiffani and Tylor’s wedding day at Chapel in the Hollow is the perfect inspiration. Their celebration was filled with soft golden light, heartfelt emotion, and the fresh beauty of early spring in East Tennessee—everything that makes a morning micro wedding feel intimate and unforgettable.

A Fresh Start: Morning Elopement Magic

March in the Smokies brings a quiet kind of beauty—cool mountain air, soft sunlight filtering through the trees, and the promise of spring just beginning to bloom. Tiffani and Tylor embraced that magic fully by choosing a morning ceremony, allowing them to soak in the peaceful stillness of the forest before the day unfolded.

Morning elopements at Chapel in the Hollow are especially dreamy. The light is gentle and romantic, creating a natural glow that enhances every moment—from the walk down the aisle to those just-married portraits. If you’re considering a Smoky Mountain micro wedding, a morning timeline offers privacy, calm, and some of the best lighting you’ll find all day.

Sunflowers, Sage & Spring Details

To complement the season, Tiffani and Tylor styled the chapel in dusty sage and hunter green fabrics, paired with cheerful sunflower florals. The combination created an earthy, joyful aesthetic that blended seamlessly with the surrounding forest.

The addition of our lantern package brought a warm, romantic glow to the space, lining the aisle and framing the couple as they said “I do.” These thoughtful design choices are part of what makes weddings at Chapel in the Hollow so customizable—couples can create a look that feels uniquely theirs while still embracing the natural beauty of the Smoky Mountains.

A Heartfelt Walk Down the Aisle

One of the most emotional moments of the day came when Tiffani made her way down the aisle on her own, bathed in soft morning light. She looked radiant in her cap sleeve gown with a long train and a delicate lace-edged veil that caught the sunlight in the most magical way.

Tylor, dressed in jeans, a black suit jacket, and a green tie, waited at the altar—and the moment he saw her, he was overcome with emotion. That genuine reaction set the tone for the entire ceremony: authentic, heartfelt, and deeply personal.

They exchanged vows, rings, and promises for the future, officially beginning their next chapter together in the peaceful embrace of the forest.

Sweet Celebrations & Personal Touches

After the ceremony, the couple celebrated with an adorable cake from Cakes by Bakin’ Bishop. Topped with a custom design they created themselves, it was a perfect reflection of their personalities—simple, sweet, and meaningful.

These little details are what make micro weddings and elopements so special. Without the pressure of a large event, couples have the freedom to focus on what truly matters: their connection, their story, and the experience of the day.

Exploring the Smoky Mountain Beauty

Following their ceremony, Tiffani and Tylor explored some of the most beloved photo spots around the property. From the charming chapel setting to the scenic highland area, every backdrop offered something unique.

One of the most breathtaking moments came in the open field with mountain views. As the sunlight streamed through Tiffani’s veil, it created ethereal, glowing images that perfectly captured the romance of their morning elopement. These are the kinds of moments that make couples fall in love with Smoky Mountain weddings—effortless beauty, natural light, and unforgettable scenery.

Why Choose a Morning March Elopement?

Tiffani and Tylor’s day is a perfect example of why couples are increasingly choosing morning elopements in March:

  • 🌄 Soft, flattering natural light for photos
  • 🌿 Peaceful, private atmosphere
  • 🌻 Early spring blooms and fresh greenery
  • 💍 Relaxed, stress-free timeline
  • 🤍 Intimate moments that feel truly personal

From the Bride

We met on Facebook. For the first date, we decided to meet for lunch. We stood in the parking lot for a while talking about our jeeps. After, we went inside and ate. We took a jeep ride through the woods just talking.

Tylor proposed. He was a nervous wreck and did it at the house after I came home from work and it caught me completely off guard and I didn’t give him an answer for a couple of days. Poor guy.

We chose East Tennessee for our March morning elopement because we go on vacation to Tennessee every year and just love the views.

I’m most looking forward to Tylor’s face when he sees me. He’s most looking forward to seeing me walk down the aisle and knowing he gets to spend the rest of his life with me.

For fun, we love Jeeps, four wheelers, sxs (we go off-roading a lot). We also enjoy the beach and the springs.

Simple vs Affordable vs Cheap Elopements: What’s the Difference?

Simple vs Affordable vs Cheap Elopements:
What’s the Difference?

If you’ve been searching for a Smoky Mountain wedding, you’ve probably seen all three of these phrases:

  • simple elopement packages
  • affordable elopement packages
  • cheap elopement packages

At first glance, they might seem like the same thing.

But they actually mean very different experiences — and understanding the difference can help you choose the right kind of wedding for you.

Let’s break it down in a way that actually makes sense.

Quick Breakdown

Here’s the simplest way to think about it:

  • Simple = Easy, intentional, stress-free
  • Affordable = Budget-conscious, good value
  • Cheap = Lowest cost possible, often with trade-offs

All three can overlap — but they don’t always create the same experience.

Simple vs Affordable vs Cheap Elopements: What’s the Difference?

What Is a “Simple” Elopement?

A simple elopement is focused on ease.

It’s not about cutting corners — it’s about removing unnecessary complexity.

A simple elopement usually includes:

  • a short, meaningful ceremony
  • minimal planning
  • a beautiful location that doesn’t need much decorating
  • a relaxed timeline
  • only the essentials

What makes it simple:

  • fewer decisions
  • fewer vendors
  • less setup
  • less stress

Simple weddings are often the most enjoyable because they allow you to stay present in the moment.

👉 Example:
A couple shows up at a forest venue, uses included décor (like faux florals and fabric), has a short ceremony, takes photos, and heads off to dinner.

No chaos. No overwhelm. Just a really good day.

What Is an “Affordable” Elopement?

An affordable elopement is focused on value.

It means you’re being intentional about your budget, but you still want a beautiful, well-rounded experience.

Affordable elopements usually include:

  • a nice venue
  • a photographer
  • possibly an officiant
  • some décor or styling
  • a slightly longer timeline

What makes it affordable:

  • prioritizing what matters most
  • skipping unnecessary extras
  • choosing packages that bundle services
  • keeping guest count small

Affordable doesn’t mean basic — it means smart spending.

👉 Example:
A couple books a 1.5–2 hour package, includes photography, uses provided décor, and skips a large reception.

They get a full experience — just without the $30k price tag.

Simple vs Affordable vs Cheap Elopements: What’s the Difference?

What Is a “Cheap” Elopement?

A cheap elopement is focused on spending as little money as possible.

There’s nothing wrong with that — but it often comes with trade-offs.

Cheap elopements usually include:

  • minimal or no vendor services
  • limited time
  • little to no décor
  • DIY elements
  • fewer comfort or convenience features

What makes it cheap:

  • lowest upfront cost
  • minimal inclusions
  • fewer built-in resources

👉 Example:
A couple chooses the most basic legal ceremony option with no extras — just enough to make it official.

That said, “cheap” can sometimes lead to:

  • more stress
  • more DIY work
  • fewer support systems
  • less flexibility

Which is why many couples start searching “cheap”… but end up choosing “simple” or “affordable.”

The Real Difference Comes Down to Experience

The biggest difference between these three isn’t just price — it’s how your day feels.

Simple = Peaceful

You’re not juggling a million decisions. Everything feels easy and intentional.

Affordable = Balanced

You get the experience you want while staying within a comfortable budget.

Cheap = Minimal

You get the essentials, but you may sacrifice convenience or atmosphere.

wedding chapel near gatlinburg Simple vs Affordable vs Cheap Elopements: What’s the Difference?

Why “Simple” Is What Most Couples Actually Want

Here’s something we’ve seen over and over:

Couples start searching for cheap elopement packages

…but what they really want is:

  • something easy
  • something beautiful
  • something meaningful
  • something that doesn’t feel overwhelming

In other words — they want simple.

Simple elopements often feel:

  • more romantic
  • more relaxed
  • more personal
  • more memorable

And because they remove unnecessary complexity, they often end up being naturally affordable too.

How Chapel in the Hollow Fits Into This

At Chapel in the Hollow, our goal is to create simple, beautiful, and flexible elopement experiences.

We’re not about overcomplicating your wedding day.

We help keep things simple by including:

  • a natural forest ceremony setting
  • faux florals and fabric décor (so you don’t have to bring your own)
  • flexible time-based packages
  • optional add-ons (so you only pay for what you want)

This allows couples to:

  • avoid unnecessary rentals
  • skip complicated logistics
  • focus on the moment instead of the planning

👉 Explore options here:
Smoky Mountain Elopement Packages

So… Which One Is Right for You?

Here’s a quick way to decide:

Choose a Simple Elopement If:

  • you want an easy, stress-free day
  • you don’t want to manage lots of details
  • you want something meaningful and relaxed

Choose an Affordable Elopement If:

  • you want a full experience on a budget
  • you want photography and some structure
  • you’re okay making a few trade-offs to save money

Choose a Cheap Elopement If:

  • your top priority is spending as little as possible
  • you’re okay with minimal services
  • you don’t need extras or support

There’s no wrong choice — it just depends on what matters most to you.

Final Thoughts

Your wedding doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive to be meaningful.

Whether you choose simple, affordable, or minimal — what matters most is that your day reflects your relationship.

For many couples, the sweet spot is something that feels:

✨ simple enough to enjoy
✨ affordable enough to feel comfortable
✨ meaningful enough to remember forever

And that’s exactly what elopements are all about.

Family Micro Wedding in the Smoky Mountains – Kayla and Baker

Family Micro Wedding
in the Smoky Mountains

Kayla and Baker – March 21, 2026

There’s something incredibly special about a family micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains — the kind of wedding where every guest matters, every moment feels intentional, and love is woven through every detail. Kayla and Baker’s wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was exactly that kind of celebration.

Set in the peaceful woods of East Tennessee, their day was filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a deep sense of connection — not just between the couple, but with the family they’ve built together. It was the kind of wedding that reminds you what it’s really all about.

A Romantic Lavender Wedding in the Tennessee Woods

Kayla and Baker leaned into a soft, romantic color palette that felt perfect for a spring wedding in the Smokies. They dressed the chapel in lavender and purple fabric, paired with our succulent florals, candle and lantern package, and delicate lavender wreaths lining the pews.

The result was absolutely dreamy — a space that felt both elegant and welcoming, with just the right touch of personality. The soft purples blended beautifully with the natural greens of the forest, creating that signature Smoky Mountain wedding aesthetic couples fall in love with.

At Chapel in the Hollow, one of the biggest advantages is how easily couples can personalize their ceremony space. Whether you want something bold and colorful or soft and romantic like Kayla and Baker, the forest backdrop enhances every detail without needing to overdo it.

A Bride Who Blended Elegance and Personality

Kayla was absolutely radiant. She wore a sleeveless wedding gown paired with a pearl-studded veil that added just the right amount of classic bridal elegance.

But what made her look truly unforgettable? She paired it all with Vans.

That mix of traditional and laid-back style perfectly captured the tone of the day — beautiful, relaxed, and completely authentic. It’s one of the things we love most about micro weddings in the Smoky Mountains: couples feel free to show up exactly as they are.

Baker complemented her perfectly in a lavender dress shirt, tying seamlessly into their color palette while keeping his look simple and polished.

Together, they looked effortless — the kind of couple whose joy shines brighter than anything they’re wearing.

Getting Ready with Family

The morning of the wedding was filled with quiet, meaningful moments. Kayla got ready with the help of her mom and aunt, creating that cozy, supportive energy that makes wedding mornings so special.

There’s something about these behind-the-scenes moments — the laughter, the anticipation, the small touches of care — that often become some of the most cherished memories of the day.

And then came one of the most emotional moments of all.

A Walk Down the Aisle Full of Meaning

Kayla was escorted down the aisle by her eldest son and her grandfather, a moment that beautifully symbolized both legacy and the future.

It was one of those moments that hits you right in the heart — seeing generations come together to support and celebrate a new chapter.

All three of their children stood with them during the ceremony, making it not just a wedding, but a true family union.

That’s the beauty of a family micro wedding in the Smoky Mountains — it allows space for those relationships to take center stage.

A Ceremony Rooted in Love and Family

Adding even more meaning to the ceremony, Baker’s father officiated — a deeply personal touch that made the moment even more special.

Kayla and Baker also chose to write their own vows, and you could feel every word. Their promises weren’t just spoken to each other — they were shared in front of the people who matter most, creating a moment that felt intimate, emotional, and incredibly real.

This is something we see often at Chapel in the Hollow — couples choosing to make their ceremonies uniquely theirs, whether through personal vows, family involvement, or meaningful traditions.

If you’re considering ways to personalize your ceremony, check out these ideas!

Celebrating Together at the Chapel

After the ceremony, everyone gathered on the chapel steps for family photos — one of the most joyful parts of the day.

There’s something about that moment right after “I do” where everything shifts. The nerves are gone, the excitement takes over, and everyone just gets to celebrate.

The chapel itself provides the perfect backdrop for these moments. Surrounded by trees and styled with soft décor, it feels both intimate and elevated — ideal for capturing those once-in-a-lifetime family memories.

Romantic Portraits in the Smoky Mountain Forest

Once family photos were complete, we snuck Kayla and Baker away for some just-married portraits — and this is where the magic really came alive.

We captured moments at the chapel, where their ceremony had just taken place, before heading to one of the most beloved spots on the property — the mossy tree.

The combination of soft spring light, fresh greenery, and their natural chemistry made every photo glow. They were full of smiles, laughter, and that unmistakable just-married energy that makes everything feel light and joyful.

One of the best parts of a Smoky Mountain micro wedding is having time for these quiet moments together — stepping away from the group and just soaking it all in.

From the Bride:

Baker moved to Blount county in the middle of 8th grade. Back then, I was a social butterfly and didn’t want anyone to feel left out. On his first day he was alone and sad looking, and I told him we were going to be best friends. After that, we’d hang out all day eat lunch together and talk on the phone after school. Through high school, we never had classes together, but I’d find him and give him a daily hug. After high school we would hang out every chance we got! I had my first baby in high school and he’d love to hang out with him. We grew apart for years, and I got married, and so did he. He would still message me and check in and wish me a happy birthday. We both got divorced, but we lived over 4000 miles apart. When we reconnected, it was instant. We would sleep on FaceTime together and everything. He booked me a flight to Hawaii and I spent a week with him and his toddler. We have been inseparable ever since. We are just a blended family that are all just lucky to have each other!!!

He proposed. We went on a date to Anakeesta on our motorcycle and he carried my ring in his boot all day on the way home we drove over the parkway which was always our favorite drive together growing up and he pulled off and asked me!!!❤️

We chose East Tennessee because this is where I was born and raised and where I met Baker. We love small, simple and beautiful things as well as nature. I’m most looking forward to becoming the wife of the man of my dreams. I’m sure he feels the same as he’s been in love with me since 8th grade! We chose March 21st because we started dating on the 21 of August and wanted to keep that date and I wanted a spring wedding.

We have started trying to visit all the national parks. We love being outdoors but also being homebodies with our three babies and having board game nights!
