Katelyn and Michael’s Smoky Mountain Elopement

We met on a dating app. We know it sounds crazy, but it has been the best thing to have ever happened to us. Our first date was a dinner that the most luxurious diner in Brandon, Florida. There was no way that we could pass up the two for $20 at Chili’s, lol, (she picked). After that we sat in his truck and listened to some Randy Travis. He sang “I’m gonna love you forever and ever…” It was a little off-key, but he nailed it. After that, we talked about what our future would be like. I know it sounds odd, but with us something just felt right. We wouldn’t change a thing about it. Now, we enjoy cooking together and having friends over. We also like going out and visiting new restaurants and places we’ve never been before. We love the outdoors and beautiful scenery, and we are always up for new adventure.

For the proposal, he had his family and my mother with us. We went to look at Christmas lights in Plant City like we have always done. When we were finished looking at the lights, he just kinda stood there next to my favorite tree. It was suspicious because he wouldn’t let me leave that spot. As I thought we were going to leave, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t find the words to say–I was in shock. He slid the ring on my finger and wrapped me up in his arms. He held me like I have never been held before. It was such a magical moment having our family with us. We will cherish that moment forever.

We decided on Tennessee because we both think it is a beautiful place. We have both traveled there, and we really wanted an intimate wedding. We both liked Chapel in the Hollow–it was perfect.

I think what we are looking forward to most is spending the rest of our lives together… and the pretty pictures to help us share this cherished memory with our family and friends.
