Getting Your Tennessee Marriage License

 

To be legally married in the state of Tennessee, you must obtain a marriage license. Getting your Tennessee marriage license is a quick and easy process. Here are the legal requirements:

*You must both be present.
*You both must be 18+ years old.
*Valid driver’s license, state-issued photo ID, state ID card, or military ID passport for both parties.
*Valid social security card or proof of social security number for both parties.
*The license must be used within 30 days after being issued and can be used on the same day.
*If either of you have been divorced or widowed, you must know the exact date that the divorce or death occurred. A bride must also have a certified copy of the divorce decree if she had a name change but has not changed her name on her driver’s license.
*License must be used within 30 days of issuance.

 

Non-Tennessee Residents – $41.00
Tennessee Residents – $101.00 (Less with pre-marriage counseling.)

There is no blood test or waiting period.
