Callie and Tyler’s Intimate Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

From the Bride:

Tyler and I met online in 2014. We lived an hour away from each other, and we took turns driving to see each other until I graduated college in 2017. He proposed in April of 2018; the week that we were moving in together. I drove to help him pack his things, and he decided on an impromptu date to the botanical gardens. We had a great afternoon exploring the grounds, and before I knew it he tapped me on the shoulder and got on one knee.  He’s always been the romantic one!

Tyler and I decided to use a midnight blue, black, and silver color palette. I imagined that our theme was a classic starry night, and even had my matron of honor in star earrings! We decided to let the flowers do most of the talking at our wedding ceremony! However, I did buy some decorations second hand and ordered a few things from craft stores to use at the reception. We mostly kept it simple with candles and flowers though! We had flowers along the mini pews, hanging from the chapel, and petals leading to the chapel! My favorite flowers are peonies and anemones so I wanted a lot of green with those flowers. Melissa Timm did a wonderful job, and made sure we had exactly what I wanted. I’ve known for years that I wanted a lace wedding dress with sleeves, buttons down the back, and an a-line skirt. My wedding dress was the second one I tried on, and it was exactly what I had in mind. I wanted a bohemian look for my hair so I asked for two side braids to go with my flower crown, and decided to go for a darker makeup style. Tyler wanted a classic suit so he decided on the black jacket and pants. He picked his attire, and boy was he handsome!

My favorite part of the entire day was seeing my husband for the first time! Chastidyi did a wonderful job of keeping us apart until the first look, and made sure our moment was private.I was so excited to see Tyler. We stayed at different cabins the night before, and I missed him so much. As soon as I saw him all the wedding jitters went away. One of the most special parts of our day was having my brother, Cole, officiate for us. Tyler and I are both a bit shy so we wanted someone close to us to marry us, and cole was the perfect choice. He went over every word with me the night before, and made sure it was exactly right. Another special part of the day was relaying our vows to each other. We decided that since our ceremony was so intimate that we would write our own vows, and I hung on Tyler’s every word! I tried so hard not to cry! It all came together so perfectly. The venue was perfect for our intimate wedding, and every one is still talking about how beautiful it all was. We had the reception at a cabin in Gatlinburg, where Panera bread catered! Tyler and I created our own playlist, and we were both surprised when our families started dancing in the living room.
