Amber and Stephen’s Rustic Elegant Wedding in the Smoky Mountains

Amber and Stephen – July 20, 2019

Amber, Stephen, and their family traveled from Georgia to join us on July 20th. She booked a three hour package and brought a whole entourage to help get everything set up perfectly. Her helpers did an amazing job, and we had extra time to get some awesome mountain photos nearby!!! I LOVE the florals they used on the chapel, and I think you will, too! Congratulations Amber and Stephen!

From the bride:
We both knew each other from working at Kirkland’s Flooring, but were just coworkers until one day I texted him apologizing about a nasty house he had to install floors in. I told him I owed him and his workers lunch. It was then when he texted me “What about dinner?” Then, we went on our first date.

I was extremely nervous all day. He had his son for the week so it was almost a week from the time he had asked me. About an hour before dinner, he texted me letting me know that his truck broke down. I was pretty bummed that he was just bailing on me, but at least my nerves were gone. He actually went through the trouble of renting a car and texted me that he would still be there. It was then when the nerves hit again. We met at a local casual seafood restaurant, and I talked WAY too much due to my nerves and to make up for his shyness and lack of talking. Surprisingly, he went out with me again. ha

The proposal… We went camping in the mountains and were hiking the waterfalls. We took some pictures in front of one and hung out for a few minutes. Then, we were about ready to hike back when he asked me “Are you ready?”  I had my back to him, but I said, “sure” as I started to head to the trail never looking back at him. He asked again “No, are you ready?” I turned around and saw him down on one knee. BEST DAY EVER even though the winds were really bad that night and it sounded like a tree was going to fall over on us in our tent and crush us!!!

We decided on Tennessee when we looked up outdoor chapels and saw this beautiful chapel and knew we had to get married there!! We looked forward most to being surrounded by family. Also having my Dad see me for the first time and seeing his reaction. After all he is the one who has made all of this possibly with the help of my mom.

For fun, we love to fish, mainly saltwater in the bays! Any day on the water is a day well spent!
